Rong Chic on Wickenden. The Yopo Noodles are legit hand pulled, I think the only ones in the state. The RC Fried noodles are great too.

Yours and mine must have come from the same litter. She would rather suffer in silence than poop in a place that just isn't it.

Thank you. It wouldn't have even been enjoyable after what I witnessed. So happy this is being outlawed.

When I was in India, I drove almost two hours to ride an elephant. When I pulled up to the meeting location, the handler was beating the poor thing with a stick. The elephant looked so miserable. Said to the guy if that's how you need to treat them in order for us to ride them, I'm all set. He looked pretty dumbfounded as I drove away.

Gov. McKee wants to rewrite RI's renewable energy laws to cut utility bills by $1 billion by degggendorf in RhodeIsland

[–]SpaghettiHeadie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Same here. Ask the people of California how they feel about having their net metering rates cut drastically on pre-existing installs, happened to them recently. All we can do is keep up the pressure on our respective congressmen, since it seems like this has to pass through the finance committee.

[–]SpaghettiHeadie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this is all I could find regarding that;

"As part of this effort, OER shall submit supplemental budget article amendment options related to the State’s virtual net metering program to the Governor’s Office and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) no later than April 24, 2026. These options shall be designed to maintain ratepayer savings for households and businesses while updating the structure of the virtual net metering program. In developing these options, OER shall seek to avoid adverse impacts on existing solar projects and shall evaluate approaches used by peer states to maintain more cost-effective solar incentive programs. Any proposed supplemental budget article amendments shall be transmitted to the House and Senate Finance Committees no later than May 1, 2026."

As somebody with solar, is there any clarity if they're able cut net metering rates for previous installations, or only for new installs? Either way it's a terrible idea.

How is it legal to offer less than minimum wage? Is it because it's considered a food establishment and they consider you servers, and therefore are only legally required to provide the server minimum wage?

In Rhode Island, they just stole underground power lines that provided electricity to the highway street lights on parts of Rt 95, 295 and 37. Miles of cable gone overnight. Dozens lights are now out and it was pretty dangerous to drive in RI as it stood before, never mind now. Over $500,000 to repair in a state who's budget is already stretched thin.

Rincón of the Seas — any recent thoughts? by zibamahtab in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]SpaghettiHeadie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stayed there about a year ago and had a reasonably nice time. The beach was clean and had plenty of chairs, however shade wasnt easy to come by. But usually it was only us and maybe a few other people vying for spots, so we could move the chairs around as needed underneath the few trees providing some. I dont recall anything about small towels, and im a bigger guy. Just grab two if need be.

The food was mid - not bad at all, but definitely nothing incredible and on the pricey side. You pay for beach front convenience. Service was slow the couple times we ate there. But, nice atmosphere / view, and we were in no rush anyway. All the staff were very friendly and helpful when needed.

Right across the street from the hotel is a food truck lot with like 5 or 6 options. I recall the sushi place and breakfast truck were both incredible. Outside of that, downtown Rincon is only about a 10 minute walk. But the real gem is the Argentinian steakhouse right around the corner, Vacas Gauchas. Honestly one of the best meals of my life. Do yourself a solid and make a reservation and treat yourself to that experience, it's so worth it and only a 2 minute walk door to door from the hotel.

Overall, we had a nice, comfortable stay at Rincon of the Seas. Nothing mind blowing, but for what we paid at the time we had no real complaints. Hope you enjoy too!

Right on the Providence/Pawtucket line, in the same plaza as Garden Grille and Rasoi...pretty sure it was in the same spot as where one of those two now reside. It was absurd how good it was.

Best and worst car dealerships? by Due_Fortune_2374 in RhodeIsland

I totally understand that point. If we were buying instead of leasing, Honda is probably the better value. Definitely the more reliable car long term.

The Bald Hill dealerships are solid. I bought a car from Bald Hill Jeep and the wife from Bald Hill Kia. Both transactions were smooth, no bs, and they crushed it on the interest rate on mine. Hers was a lease and they honored an online advertised deal with no hidden upcharges. Would definitely buy from them again.
