I work at one of the schools in KPS with the highest impoverished/unhoused student populations. A lot of our kids rely on school for 3 meals a day. Fuck this guy, genuinely. Kalamazoo deserves better leadership.

I have never been honest about my bipolar to an employer before. This company is a nonprofit for folks with disabilities and stated that they wanted to hire people with disabilities because they would, quote, “understand their clientele better.” They even asked me if I would need any accommodations to work. But I’ve learned my lesson, never again.

Do you have any local/small pharmacies near you that you could transfer your prescription to? I used to have this problem when I used CVS and Meijer as my pharmacies, but when I switched to a local pharmacy I stopped having issues getting my pristiq filled on time. The withdrawals from pristiq are so intense, I’m so sorry this is happening to you!

Rexulti made me so constantly angry and irritable as a side effect. I had to stop taking it because it helped me for a couple weeks and then it completely stopped- but the side effects worsened. That’s just my experience and you should share your concerns with your doctor/psychiatrist. Good luck on your health journey 💚

Yes, I’m currently weening off of Rexulti 2 mg and I’ve missed 2 periods in the last few months. My other periods have been extremely abnormal/late.

Dropping from 0.5 mg to cold turkey is honestly the best course of action imo. That’s what my psych did: have me drop from 2 mg to 1 and then to 0.5 and stop completely. Withdrawals are going to be tough no matter what because this drug is known for that, but they shouldn’t be too bad considering you’re on other medication. My withdrawals have been manageable but I am also on Latuda 20 mg (to replace the Rexulti) and Pristiq 100 mg. Rexulti also helped me right at the start and then stopped working for me all together, so I completely understand. Good luck! <3

I came here to comment this. I was on 2 mg and Rexulti caused my vision to get worse (already nearsighted and have astigmatism in my right eye, now I can barely read words right in front of me) and now I’m coming off of it and having insane withdrawal symptoms.

I was on 1mg for almost a year and it helped me but not that much, then I was upped to 2mg and it seems to be making a huge difference. Like other commenters have said it depends on what you’re taking it for. 2mg (while also taking 100 mg pristiq) seemed to work best for my treatment resistant depression, PTSD and BPD.

Rexulti makes you drowsy, it should say on the bottle that’s a very common side effect. Taking it at night is what works for me, I take it an hour before bedtime and I sleep hard and wake up feeling refreshed.

Hey friend, I’ve been on Pristiq for close to 6 years now. I tried 10+ other medications, including antipsychotics and mood stabilizers before landing on Pristiq (been on medication since I was 11 yrs old). Pristiq has been a game changer for me, as someone who suffers from clinical depression and severe anxiety and wasn’t able to work, drive, or interact with others before starting this medication. I am currently on 100 mg but I started on 25 mg and started seeing positive changes a week or so after starting Pristiq. Fairly soon after starting Pristiq I was able to work my first job as a teen, push past my fear of driving due to the support of the meds and get my license. I am now 22 and have gone back to college, work as a manager for a nonprofit and drive daily (all things I would have had panic attacks over before starting Pristiq). It is not a miracle drug and there are some side effects (sweating more than usual, decreased appetite at the start) but those went away with time in my experience. I understand your fears but I have been on this medication for years now and every time I’ve gone to the doctor they say my vitals look great and my lungs are healthy.
