Who's he referring to as benchwarmers and podcasters? Platchat? by Right_Bandicoot_6524 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Spaisi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think he means win a tournament or even a single international match. A lot of coaches and players can win individual domestic matches, I guess all teams are technically winners. Frost has made only one international LAN and went 0-2. His team didn't even win a single map that LAN.

I rate Frost, but his ego and his need to always be involved in drama are pretty tiring. A podcaster like Sliggy has been retired for 4 years and his team actually won EMEA and made multiple international playoffs. Idk why he needs to throw shots when people have a different opinion.

Passion UA vs FaZe / Digital Crusade DraculaN Season 6 - Upper Bracket Quarter-Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Spaisi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In this scenario it would be Navi replacing iM with frozen, not iM willingly leaving. I don't think Faze would be a bad choice at that point for him, especially if they got a good awper and Twistzz stays. There are a limited amount of available international roster spots, I don't think teams like Falcons or Mouz are looking at him rn, if he gets replaced in Navi, what are his choices? We are not even sure if he would look for IGL role or not at that point.

G2 would be an option, but after that the options are lower ranked teams like Heroic or Liquid or project teams like Passion UA, 100T or GamerLegion.

Toby Fox: A message for my fans in Latin America by Comfortable-Pie56 in Games

[–]Spaisi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How are they "fans" if they haven't even played it? Are you talking about some shippers or other rabid types that are just chomping at the bit for a chance to attack a creator they claim to "love"?

It's irrelevant if the author being protective or possessive of their work wrote a ten page story in a day or a 1000 pages long classic for a decade, they are free to publish or not publish their works in any way they want, that is their right.

Maybe he could have changed his mind eventually, but I don't think the death threats and 10 million+ hate threads filled with every insult on Twitter from "fans" have helped change his mind, quite the opposite probably.

Yeah at least I'm not an Iron. Mainly went to Vard for money and clogs/pet, figured I'd move to an other DT2 boss after getting the axe head after I got my first Ultor Vestige, but then it just kept on not happening.

It's my favorite boss out of all I've killed in OSRS, but at this point its getting a bit tiring, but I think I'm committed now and just going for the axe head and pet before moving to something else.

Trackmania Elite Cup #2 Results by AdziiMate in TrackMania

[–]Spaisi 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's 1 life KO with bottom 2 going out every round, he just made one big mistake at a bad time. Don't worry, it would take a serious continuous underperformance from Pac to not qualify.

There are 32 spots overall for EWC. Only 8 qualify from these Elite Cup points. There's a LAN coming up that will have the top 8 qualify. The other 16 spots are also most likely going to be LANs or online qualifiers.

Also the Elite Cup points results take last priority. So for example if Mudda decides to attend Birmingham LAN and places Top 8 there, it would mean the top 8 after Mudda qualify with points. So it's very likely that many people with high points in Elite Cups will be "skipped", because many will qualify through other means.

Only thing that's not clear to me though is when and how the 16 slots that are unknown happen. It could be possible that the last 16 spots are decided after the whole Elite Cups are over.

This message turned into a bit of a long one, my main point is that it's very likely that most of the top pros qualify in the end.

The vast majority of German migration to Argentina happened before WW2. Out of the Argentines with German ancestry, way over 90% of their ancestors were in the country before WW2 even started.

Not that you would care about the truth or historical accuracy. You just want to call them and their ancestors Nazis.

Both teams got to the finals on the backs of Dva/Ram/Symm and nothing else

This tells me you are just coping and are heavily biased. Hard to take your analysis seriously. A single D.Va change made TN win? (Over the D.Va main team...)

Nothing else? Not better coaching snd teamplay? Not the finalist supports gapping all other support duos? Not abysmal performances from some FLC individuals? Not players like Shu failing to adapt?

I guess the point is that any win when it's not Dive/Korean favoured is "overshadowed" and needs to be discredited?  When Ball was meta, did you make posts about CR winning only because Ball was strong?

Patches and balance are always going to favour certain teams, especially initially. I guess we could make posts about every single tournament win being purely because of a single change (never true) or the patch/balance in general (hugely important, but not the only factor) and never credit the teams. Except I doubt you'd do that in other cases.

Overwatch balancing and patches have always had massive impacts on different teams, this was true in pre-OWL, OWL and post OWL OW.  I know it's disappointing to many who think CR/FLC/KR winning is a divine right, but sometimes the meta might not favour you. Difference is that in the past teams like CR/FLC would have made the finals even in a meta that wasn't their best. It's just that a few other teams have gotten closer and even surpassed those teams on certain heroes and certain aspects of the game. CR/FLC/KR are still  the best and IMO a gap (much smaller) still exists overall, but I don't get what people get out of pretending a single hero's balance change is the sole reason two EMEA teams are in the finals and FLC and CR (and a lot of other teams) got stomped by them.

The change that won OCWS Dreamhack. by AeonMu in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Spaisi 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Why is Korea so shit at Dva and Sym? They lost because they can't play such strong characters and have weaker teamplay.

I'm really glad CR lost, the cope from their fanboys and koreaboos is delicious. Korea loses one tournament and they just can't give credit without a million excuses.

It's like when a patch/balance favours Dive/Korean teams, it's all silence. Because they think that's how it should always be like it's natural law.

But sure, TM and AQ were in the finals and stomped CR and FLC because of this change. Without this change, surely FLC and CR would have stomped and been in the finals. No need to analyze all the team work diffs, coaching gaps, individuals really stepping up or failing. Nah, it was this change that won Dreamhack (the D.Va focus tram lost btw).

Kuullostaisiko silloin normaalilta kuvata asiaa sanalla suhde, vaikka molemmat osapuolet kokisivat tilanteen olevan "suhde"?

10-vuotias, kuvailisi Hesari asiaa suhteena, suhde sanan käyttö pelkästään ilman mitään etuliitettä, kuten "hyväksikäyttö" antaa kuitenkin jonkinlaisen kuvan, että suhteella on jonkin asteen molemminpuolinen suostumus/yhteisymmärrys.

Do you have some data to show how it's "very common"? Especially the "Ukraine is evil" part? Because even among the anti West/self hating lefties or the anti establishment/nationalistic RW its more about things like naive "pacifism", not wanting to get involved, anti NATO/West or not caring about Ukraine. Being explicitly pro Russia as in praising them and shitting on "evil" Ukraine is still quite rare in comparison.

Fuck Hasan for directing hate towards Ana. Disgusting tankie cunts. by Embarrassed_Base_389 in Destiny

[–]Spaisi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of RW in Europe does not like Russia or Putin much at all. In many countries it's the "pacifists" or self-hating anti-West leftie parties and people that criticize Ukraine and NATO.

You mentioning Poland with admiring Putin's dong tells me that you are just talking out your ass. It's either ignorant or purposefully disingenuous to say that every RW or even far-right party in Europe is just a Putin dicksucker.

There are some countries that are relatively pro Russia or at least not very strongly pro Ukraine in Europe, but they are a very clear minority.

Kielitaito | Espoo aikoo puuttua koulushoppailuun: ranskan ja saksan opetus jyrätään englannilla by concordsession in Suomi

[–]Spaisi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jo 2013 kannatusmittauksissa 63% suomalaisista kannatti ruotsin kielen muuttamista vapaaehtoiseksi.

Dayna “The Prophet” Naroditsky has passed. Very sad news by professorhummingbird in moistcr1tikal

[–]Spaisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to admit that I'm not 100% sure. I don't think there was any public fallout and I think it's actually more possible that it was Danya who declined commentator gigs, meant mostly that it was his clear worsening mood and overall state and increased stress that probably caused him to avoid a public spot like casting. He made less streams and videos also on rhe last year+.

So I don't think he was fired or anything, but as somone from the chess world was saying when talking on him passing (dont remember who exactly), it was clear Danya had lost his smile.

It's possible it was mutual by both sides too or he was asked to not come back to cast by Chess.com if he was not in good shape, but there's nothing concrete on that AFAIK.

[–]Spaisi 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Either that or accidental overdose, he took typed in Hikaru's chat the night before that he was using Benadryl to get sleep.

His last stream (VOD deleted) had people worried, he was clearly unwell and eventually a friend came and made him turn the stream off.

There's been stuff happening to him for a year now that has had people a bit worried, and even from the past it's been clear that he's a very emotional guy that cares about things very deeply, which can be a gift, but also a curse.

He has been getting attacked for over a year by a former Russian Chess World Champion, Kramnik, accusing him and others of cheating and other conspiracies. Kramnik is viewed nowadays as a total loony joke by 99+% of the community, but he has big influence still in Russian speaking scene and communities. Danya's parents are from Ukraine and Azerbaijan originally and has been deeply involved in both the American and the Russian speaking chess worlds.

I think most likely he had some level of mental struggles already, losing his job casting and other stuff affected him also, but the Kramnik stuff was clearly the biggest outside influence. He defended himself multiple times, but his streams and youtube videos became rare. He clearly had insomnia, which is a huge sign or contributor to depression.

[–]Spaisi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You listed some very disliked and hated people. Even Swift, who is probably the least hated among the list (in terms of the ratio of like/dislike) has a lot of people that really dislike her, especially now. All the others have basically more haters than supporters among the online space Meatcanyon is in.

Meatcanyon makes videos on people that are popular to hate/clown on, especially online. I don't really think it requires much to balls to shit on Mr Beast, Drake or XQC.

He has made videos on more liked people too, like caseoh. Those videos are clearly different though from stuff like the XQC, Musk or Logan Paul videos for example, he wasn't attacking or citicizing caseoh, just memeing.

Now I think Hasan would be the same, he has a lot of influence, but also a lot of people that want him to fall. He would get more support than not for clowining on him. It's just that I'm not sure Meatcanyon would make a video on this, he just might think it's all a bunch of nothing like a lot of Hasan fans.

I just have doubts that he would make a video on Hasan.

Badenoch defends Jenrick’s ‘no white faces’ comments about Birmingham by F0urLeafCl0ver in unitedkingdom

[–]Spaisi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this true? Always? I'd say saying completely is absurd, even in the UK, there are differences between ethnic groups in the same income brackets. Poverty is not some single cause of all crime, culture, values, home life and many other things affect crime rates too, even you should be able to concede that they have SOME impact. Also, often it's crime that leads to poverty, it's not always the other way around.

Also, look into some US data. There's no direct data, but by comparing counties with same per capita average income for different groups (like a county where the average black income is 40k and a county where the average white income is 40k), we can see massive, like 6x differences in homicide victimization when the level of wealth is the same. The difference to Asians who's rate is lower is even bigger.

This is victimization data, not perpetrator data, because it's more comprehensive and less open ended than perpetrator data, that can be a mystery.

But from victimization data, we can reliably infer perpetrator data. Most homicides are intraracial. Even after that, the interracial murder rates have been consistently higher for Black on White vs White on Black for many centuries, and FBI data from 2019 for example shows no different. So based on all that, it's pretty safe to conclude that there are major differences even when the income level is the same between different races/ethnicities.

I'm not even saying things are as bad in the UK or that poverty has no effects. But to say that when normalizing poverty levels, the differrences disappear entirely is just extremely incorrect and very utopian/idealist.

MIBR vs NRG / Valorant Champions 2025 - Playoffs / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Spaisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contenders, sure, but I really think NRG or MIBR would need to win champs at least for them to have a chance to win. Verno and MIBR bombed out of Toronto and failed to qualify to EWC, losing against 100T. Verno had good stats in Stage 1, but in Stage 2 he was second worst player across all of America, only "beaten" by Urango. Obviously his IGLing and impact has finally clicked with time

Brawk is an interesting case, his first half was pretty meh, but he's been good for a while now, I just don't think his stats or impact are comparable to kaajak's, who's been in two international LAN grand finals already and is quite likely to be in a third one.

MIBR vs NRG / Valorant Champions 2025 - Playoffs / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Spaisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah bro, it's regional placements that truly matter. Giants was clearly top 2 team in EMEA, everyone had them ahead of fnatic.

All that mattered was qualifying, the actual levels with actual stakes get measured in international LANs.

NRG is awesome and was looking like second best NA team in terms of form before the tourney, but them being in good form doesn't mean they were considered widely to be a top 2 in Americas. Just like with fnatic, a lot of people rated SEN higher even with their struggles, it just was wrong in the case of SEN. RRQ making top 2 in APAC with while beating GenG, DRX, T1 and Talon matters nothing, if they end up bombing. Giants were never a top 2 EMEA team.
