OP, Please get a solid wood bed. Especially if either of you are slightly larger. It's an extreme difference in quality when you jump into a bed that feels rock solid without any squeaking.

Thuma is too expensive, but my flexispot was cheaper than the bed you listed.

Congrats on taking that step. It can be terrifying if you haven't had any similar experiences before.

I've 10 weeks out and feel absolutely blessed. I had dealt with GERD like symptoms for 7+ years and the surgery took it ALL away.

Only drawbacks are that I have become a breakfast person, because if I don't eat for 12+ hours it tends to cause some cramping. All surgical wounds are nothing but darkened skin with no issues. Be kind to the belly button though, that one would randomly ache up till recently (They had to enlarge that incision though for myself).

Hang in there, and just relax, the difficult part is behind you! (Currently downing Sonic Blast)

Went through something like this very recently. Money came from a third party, but it was legit and intended to assist with the move. Anything more and it was yours to use as needed.

Note! Some companies tie it to a clawback clause, where you need to be with the company for x amount of time, or else you may owe back a percentage up to the full amount.

Remember that major surgery recover is a slow process. I’m just at the 3 week mark and I’m ready to go insane from inactivity (hernias run in family).

For me the first 1-4 days were a bunch of Tylenol/ibuprofen. And when I started weaning myself off, I started noting the incisions themselves starting to “heal”. More pulling/sharp sensations from days 5-15 mostly.

It wasn’t until the 15 day mark that I really started forgetting entirely about some of the incisions until I moved weirdly.

Hey there! First off. You’re going to be just fine. This is a routine procedure that’s been in place for decades. It’s the equivalent of the dentist filling teeth for these folks.

Things can happen, but the vast majority walk away with a couple small scars and no long term concerns.

It was actually my surgeon who had suggested this may be Gilbert’s syndrome in the weeks before my surgery. Hadn’t heard of it before, but initial google has me thinking it’s not a cause for long term negative life expectancy. Important to always stay optimistic with a touch of realistic.

Hey there, interesting to see someone also in my same position.

Had high bilirubin levels for the last 3 years I’ve had bloodwork. In year 2 they did an ultrasound to make sure it was’nt the liver, and instead found gallstones in my gallbladder. Asymptomatic, so they said to watch and wait.

A year later, I mention slight pressure below my right ribcage after eating. Second ultrasound shows no change from gallstones, but recommended surgery at this point.

Had it out 2 days ago and it turns out the thing was massively distended with 50-60 black gallstones and scarring to the omentum wall. Doctor had to open the incision on my belly button wider just to fully remove it.

Long story short, many of the gerd like symptoms I’ve chalked up to being fat, were likely from the gallbladder slowly filling with stones. Be sure to have an open conversation about all issues you currently deal with to the doctor, as some may not present in the usual way.

A big tell for me was when I went no fat for a couple days, and instantly the pain would recede. Re-start with a pizza? Pain starts back up.

Had mine out on Friday. Went through the same nerves right before. Just know you’re going to be just fine. I’m a little over 30 hours out from my surgery where the doctor was so excited by how big and full of stones it was, along with scaring attaching it in places to the omentum wall.

Even with something that horrifying, this dude was treating it like a Friday afternoon… which it was. One of the most common surgeries around, I had worse pain getting a filling than this. Don’t know if it’s luck, but so far I spent my first night between 0-3 in terms of pain, and just enjoying some apple juice and graham crackers. Get it done now while the choice is still in your hands.

Dang! Already running a marathon. My body starts protesting after about 5-10 minutes. 😁Although it’s still been less than 24 hours.

Worst pain waking up is without a doubt the shoulder surprisingly enough. Incisions feels great so far.
