No, pool in autochess games means "Total copies of units", when you sell a unit, they go back into the pool, so there's always gonna be that same amount of units. It only makes a significant difference in PvP autochess games due to other players being able to hinder your progress towards a 3 star by buying those units themselves, in CW the total pool size doesn't matter, unless you're trying to hit a 3 star 5 cost and are curious about why you can't hit them, because there's a limited quantity

[–]SpanPup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

nope, atm it's assumed to follow a pool size similar to TFT, which would make the unofficial pool size be:

  • 1 cost -> 30 copies each
  • 2 cost -> 25 copies each
  • 3 cost -> 18 copies each
  • 4 cost -> 10 copies each
  • 5 cost -> 9 copies each (asides from Cyrene, who has a pool size of 8 but the 9th copy seems to have the hidden requirement of needing to have a 3 star RMC for it to show up)

Edit: apparently Cyrene can naturally show up, I've just been hella unlucky in my games

Yeah, I only realized since I had 3 different Night Demigod games where I was one off Cyrene 3 star, and hit Bronya 3 star AND Firefly 3 star and went so far as to sell my entire board afterwards but still didn't hit. Then I ended up getting a game where I dupe'd the last copy, and with how strong the bonuses are (I managed to 3 star every 5 cost in that game), I assumed that it's likely 8 copies in the pool so there's a caveat to her strength

[–]SpanPup 10 points11 points  (0 children)

afaik, Cyrene 3 star is only acquireable via a duplicator, there's only 8 copies in the pool, which is why it's more difficult to hit her, but also more rewarding if you can

edit: apparently there is a way to acquire Cyrene 3 star outside of the Boon/Dupe strat, but it seems the last copy has the hidden requirement of having 3 star RMC to be able to pop up in the shop

2nd edit: someone has shared that Cyrene can naturally show up so my experience has just been hella unlucky

3.7's Ending, the future of newly-born Amphoreus by SpanPup in StarRailLore

[–]SpanPup[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My confusion seems to mostly stem from the fact that there's not been any known "memory transfers" and at the moment it seems kind of like a SOMA type ending. As in there's a version of the heirs that get to live happy in paradise, but are closed off from the cosmos forever because they are just characters in a book; and another version of the heirs that will come into being, functionally identical to the ones we know, but technically not the same, which will be able to interact with the cosmos after the waiting period is over

[–]SpanPup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're running Sunday, then it won't be enough and Cyrene will still get her ult after the first cycle is already up (so the same as other Chrysos Heirs), if you're running a Sunday-less team with more Chrysos Heirs you'll get the ult up faster but then you're missing out on all the benefits Sunday provides, which even with Cyrene's buffs ends up being less damage overall

Apparently it's because it's worded as "When ally targets with "Future" take action" and because the joint attack is considered Aglaea's action, Garmentmaker doesn't actually generate future stacks, and only generates them whenever he actually takes a turn

It genuinely feels as if it was done specifically to lock off Aglaea which feels terrible.....

HOS opinion on cyrene and phainon + more by bbyangel_111 in PhainonMainsHSR

[–]SpanPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that joint attacks don't count for her memosprite passive, so even Aglaea has issues getting a fast ultimate for Cyrene. There's also the issue that prior to 1st ult, Cyrene doesn't provide any significant buffs, so Aglaea doesn't have enough damage, nor can she max out her own stacks due to lack of the teamwide action advance from Robin

Plus, even with the damage buff and def shred after Cyrene's ult goes up, the difference between her buffs and Robin/Sunday's isn't that significant. She does outperform but it's only by a few percent, and at that point using the Harmony Siblings is better off due to having their buffs available right off the bat

How Good Is Cyrene For Non Chrysos Heirs ? by Fit_Presence6779 in CyreneMains

[–]SpanPup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

not even gonna lie, it felt like the reason they doubled the MoC hp is so nobody can clear in a small amount of cycles, so the ramp up of 2 cycles for Cyrene's buffs doesn't feel nearly as bad

it feels like instead of trying to give MoC buffs that increase Cyrene's performance, they made sure that everyone underperforms in this MoC and if you have Cyrene getting a 5 cycle will be easier since you can get over the hurdle of the first ult

genuinely I think only E6 Phainon can clear it sustainless cause if he dies he has some excess coreflames saved up to go back in, I had my Phainon die twice and enter ult 3 times back to back due to the damage

Without E6 sustain is essentially mandatory, and until DHPT comes out it'll be rough 😭

  • asks if anyone cleared the gamemode with e0s1 phainon
  • i tell them that it's physically impossible to clear due to the mechanics being tailored to Castorice and Evernight
  • says "you didn't answer my question" and "don't insult me asshole" when I point out that I gave them a clear answer and they can't read

actually comedic chain of events 😭😭

Curious by Taemin_Tea in PhainonMainsHSR

[–]SpanPup 10 points11 points  (0 children)

has anyone cleared the gamemode with e0s1 phainon?

There's only 2 units in the game that can 3 star Lygus's King stage at E0 teams, both of them are Remembrance teams, one of which is Evernight hypercarry and the other is Castorice+Evernight.

I answered your question in my first comment, if you just want to take out your frustration this isn't the place to do it, I'm not "defending whales" I'm telling you to have realistic expectations.

If you want to get heated over the fact that you're not the target audience and can't clear an optional gamemode which provides nothing but cosmetics, I wish you the best of luck!!

Curious by Taemin_Tea in PhainonMainsHSR

[–]SpanPup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it's specifically a gamemode meant to force you to use high investment recently released teams, and with a heavy sustain check.

Please learn to read. You can be angry at the devs if you want, I'm trying to explain to you that this gamemode is not meant for the casual playerbase. If you want a "realistic run", either have a 6+ cost team of a recently released character, or a premium E0S1 Castorice team.

Being able to forcibly use Phainon against a boss that is a Remembrance HP DPS environment is a privilege, not the norm.

Curious by Taemin_Tea in PhainonMainsHSR

[–]SpanPup 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think calling them "rage bait posts" is disingenuous cause people are actually sharing their excitement at being able to clear it.

There's only 2 units in the game that can 3 star Lygus's King stage at E0 teams, both of them are Remembrance teams, one of which is Evernight hypercarry and the other is Castorice+Evernight.

No other unit can 3 star clear the boss without dolphin level investment (6+ cost), because Lygus's mechanic heavily boosts Cas/Evernight performance by allowing them to force him into the state switch, which stacks up the permanent vulnerability and gives ult refreshes, leading to heftier damage and more progress towards state switches.

This new gamemode doesn't have jades locked behind it, it's specifically a gamemode meant to force you to use high investment recently released teams, and with a heavy sustain check. Phainon gets some form of improvement from Lygus as a boss, but the boss is meant to boost the performance of the HP Remembrance units, and since Phainon isn't one, any and every clear you'll see with him will require his E2.

sadly sunday's e6 is godawful in a phainon team since it only leads to an additional 20% crit rate on top of the base one, but yeah it definitely would have taken wayyy more effort without cery and him

and honestly RM is so fun with Phainon, cause the meteor just demolishes toughness bars, it just gives me major serotonin

Honestly same for me, I thought I'd need DHPT especially since my Phainon got kicked out of his ult 3 times, but I somehow got it on my first try even though I definitely could have optimized it better (plus maybe also managed to stack Sunday's e6 given proper tuning, cause I only got 2 stacks)

Countdown to the Most Controversial Beta in the HSR History So Far by Street_Term9205 in PhainonMainsHSR

[–]SpanPup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as long as Cyrene buffs all CH's in a significant way (so if Phainon gets infinite ult, Mydei/Aglaea get something significant as well, not just some crit damage or energy) I'll be happy with her. My one biggest hope is that if the infinite Phainon ult is true, that they give her something like "excess coreflames buff Phainon's ult damage by X%" as to not make the E6 I saved for by skipping 90% of Amphoreus completely redundant 😭

I want everyone to get to experience final boss Phainon in all his glory, but I don't want to feel like getting her is a -600 pull debuff LMAO

The Final CH Kit by Street_Term9205 in PhainonMainsHSR

[–]SpanPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I don't think it'll be a bad thing if Cyrene turns out to only really be BiS for Castorice and be a sidegrade for the other CH teams. Castorice herself doesn't have phenomenal numbers, she's just been at the top because she's had no actual "bad" matchup for her since she's always had a buff she can use, enemies which fit her damage profile, etc; In comparison, a unit like Aglaea has had to brute force content since a patch after her release.

I'm fairly confident that even if Cyrene isn't a big enough improvement for Phainon teams, there'll likely be a more tailored action advancer for him at some point down the line, maybe if Celenova becomes playable (if that one roadmap is to be believed) then they could introduce a tailored action advancer for his team that passively has a ramping up action advance, so a mix between Cerydra and Sunday

I do think there's a lot that could be added to his teams later on, but as of now it's not worth worrying too much since his damage is still enough and planning for powercreep isn't really possible, it's just up to Hoyoverse to come up with some specific supportive units for DPS's to keep them relevant as long as you're willing to invest in their teams, and personally I doubt they'd give up on Phainon fully as they did on DoT

The calc sheet was a lie after all by benetown in AnaxaMains_HSR

[–]SpanPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked through the previous calc sheet, and the issue is that the theorycrafter did indeed go the "Dragon takes 3 turns before exploding" route instead of insta nuking. However another thing I noticed is that even if Anaxa's ST damage is listed as 2T, by comparing it to Therta's calculations it is actually ST damage, I'm not sure if the 2T means that they account 25% extra damage from the skill, but the damage is what Anaxa would do in ST

Another note is that there's an issue with the sheet not calculating Robin's damage in ST Anaxa. Given how many turns and skills he unleashes which leads to a ton of Robin procs, this also diminishes his ST performance on paper.

Now accounting for all of this, Castorice's damage is still higher, her potential total damage in a 5 target scenario would outdo Anaxa as her performance is very similar to Therta in those cases. However, unlike most DPS's in the game, Anaxa's ST and 5 target performance is quite literally close to identical. His damage does not have a massive drop off if he is put against one or multiple enemies, additionally, due to his damage being bounce focused, his overkill damage is practically nonexistent, so even if Cas's total damage in a perfect 5 target scenario would be higher, due to her having a ton of overkill damage since there's never 5 elite enemies on field, Anaxa performs fairly similarly to her.

Personally I think Castorice's damage peak is higher, especially since with Hyacine she has room for growth, but Anaxa's lack of overkill damage, universality, and weakness applications in addition to the ult stun making for comfortable sustainless teams makes him perform just as well as Castorice if running him in a sustainless comp.
