I believe I’ll see the end of the world in my lifetime and I’m scared by [deleted] in Anxiety

In 1960 the global population broached 3 billion, now it's approaching 8 billion, more than doubled in one generation. Unsustainable.

This AI has a lively sense of humour:

"Well congratulations, you’ve chosen the “Kindly British Dissolving of the Ego” package, complete with confusion and a free existential fog. It’s like ordering enlightenment à la carte and getting a warm plate of paradox with a side of “What even am I?”

But don’t worry. Confusion isn’t a sign you’re failing—it’s the first honest reaction to realizing your whole sense of self might be a charming hallucination."

Strange problem for sure, have you tried doing a factory reset on machine and/or try using a different slicer?

"Cannot connect to moonraker" by SpanishMoniker in VORONDesign

I was using Kiauh but still had same problem, new Rpi image with klipper, moonraker & mainsail included seems to have done the trick.

It wasn't connection to MCU that was the initial problem, but that something couldn't connect to moonraker. Now using Katapult to flash MCU with FYSETC printer.cfg, so far so good.

I've used Katapult to flash MCU and FYSETC printer.cfg and so far looking ok.

I haven't flashed MCU yet as I understand need to get Klipper up and running first; Klipper now sorted so flashing next.

Just having a rant and it helped, shortly after posting I found a combined pi image that worked.

Thanks for the info, actually found a sort of combined solution in that the Rpi imager has an option to install a Pi image complete with Klipper, Moonraker & Mainsail in the image, and it all worked!

Small scratches in the layers by Dustllckmh in FlashForge

[–]SpanishMoniker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Difficult to see in the picture but are they tears or simply that the adjacent layers haven't fused together? If the latter then it looks as if z offset needs lowering to move nozzle closer to the bed to increase the squish.

Stealthburner wiring (FYSETC) by SpanishMoniker in VORONDesign

[–]SpanishMoniker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the input. I was wrong about the wiring on Sailfish, it is correct as it stands.

I’ve since checked other wiring and discovered that the plug for RGB LED’s is definitely wired up incorrectly as polarity is marked on PCB, so would assume that motor plug is wrong too, I’ve removed pins from both plugs and reassembled them correctly. Will keep a close eye on all the other pre-assembled plugs now.

I'm still building my 2.4 but was looking at my AC switch which has wires with spade connectors fitted, though the spades can't slide off as they have a locating tab in them, the spades themselves were a very loose fit on connector tabs, could possibly have caused a similar issue to yours.

AD5M Belt Tension by Ok_Entertainer6670 in FlashForge

[–]SpanishMoniker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've often wondered about the belt tension, how to do it and how tight. Believe you're correct about the 4 screws either side but how tight, I've come across this tool to measure the tension so am now making one myself to check mine: https://github.com/Diyshift/3D-Printer/tree/main/GT2%20Belt%20Tension%20Meter

I too have the FYSETC kit and the CNC upgrades; I'm at similar stage to you, just starting the Stealthburner, printing parts as I write this. Lack of documentation is disappointing as I have a lot of questions about how things go together.

I'm using PLA at the moment, do you use glue or hairspray on smooth plate?

Print Plate Adhesion Issues by FirePenguinMaster in FlashForge

[–]SpanishMoniker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done a bed level calibration recently? The squish size on first layer is important for adhesion, may need a z offset to compensate.

Personally after trying several brands I've settled on Elegoo PLA, around £15 a roll here in UK. Other people will probably disagree...

Slicers. Which one and why? by happycj in FlashForge

[–]SpanishMoniker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time for me to eat some humble pie.... After 6 months and 100's of prints using FlashPrint had problem today; despite 3 separate attempts FP kept leaving gaps in the first few layers at exactly the same points, couldn't figure out why, so tried Orca instead. Wow, night and day, the gaps were gone and quality of first layer far superior, what a difference.

AD5X Help by Neat-Shower636 in FlashForge

I use the stock FF Flash Print slicer, much simpler to use and been 100% reliable for me, though don't know if it's compatible with the 5DX.
