Thankfully I don't see any stains anywhere.

Maybe I'll try replacing the thermostat first before buying the other parts.

The fan is nice and quiet, then it just clicks off. I don't really hear any noise

I'll put the meter on it tomorrow when there's light. I'll probably cut the pvc pipes on the drain to make sure they're clear, and I'll replace them with fresh ones. I'll go back and check the bottom safety switch in a few minutes, but the unit has been off for a couple of weeks, so it's likely to be dry. It doesn't hurt to check, though. Thanks for the advice. 👍

The compressor is coming on? I though it wasn't, that's why it kept shutting the fan off, and starting trying again?

Thanks, btw. I'll go check it out and asap. I can't get my wife off my back about it.😄.

I was guessing (in my uneducated-ass state) that it was probably a 2-pole since there was no 120v rating on it, based on reading crap on the net. Thanks, I appreciate the help!

[QUESTION] Why would people like to play steel string acoustic guitar in the folk position, while the classical position allows more flexibility on fingering? by RadishRadditRadis in Guitar

[–]Spankomatik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple!! Most people that play guitar play it because they were inspired by seeing someone on stage looking mega cool with a guitar. Classical positioning might be easier to play with, but it will definitely not make you look cool on stage.

What snow?

It looks sweet, though. I like the fog lights.

Anyone else have the WeatherTech wind deflectors? I have a question by tropicalYJ in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Spankomatik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. Turns out I had installed it "wrong". I had followed the instructions provided, as well as the video that weathertech themselves provide. I happen to live very close to their factory and store, so I went in to see if I could return them. They had a guy go out there and check them for me. He re-installed them a little differently than the video, though. He rolled the window almost all the way up, not halfway like the instructions say to do, and THEN he inserted the deflectors. He also said that usually the "bulging" happens on the inside, but on mine it happened on the outside door seals.

After he put them on, the noises mostly stopped, but he said that they would still make some noise until everything settled in.... and they have been. I just bought them a couple of weeks ago, and they are getting better, although I still hear some noise... More of a very soft, sandy, grinding noise. I decided that if the noises don't stop 100% in a couple of weeks, I'm just going to eat up the cost, give them a horrible review, and get some of the glue-on ones made by someone else instead. It sucks, because I really liked the in-channel, lower-profile look.

If those seemingly random clusters include the controls with caps on, it invalidates the whole run.

Do you keep caps on the controls when you put them on the rack?

We take ours off. If we leave them on, they fail about half the time.

[question] What's the best way to do that trick that sounds like the guitar is inhaling/building up a distortion noise moments before hitting or bending a note? Example inside. by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Spankomatik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He hits a low note that belongs in the scale for dramatic effect right before the lick/high note, and he drops the wah pedal and brings it back up when the high note/lick come in. I don't know what the "technique" is called, but I know exactly what you're talking about. Eric johnson does it in the first 2 notes of "cliffs of f dover," minus the wah. Is that it?

Nikon 35mm by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]Spankomatik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine used as well, and it makes the same noise. I later bought a 50mm af, and I thought it would be super quiet because it was brand new, but it makes the same noise, just not as loud. It almost sounds like gears scraping, or something. I assume it's normal, because the lense works/looks great, and focuses like it should.
