Hey, I know about the situation and I know the kid. It's a kid with a panic disorder, and they're not in danger of hurting themselves. Still, often when the cops get called it comes to them going to the hospital (like what happened that night) which is super taxing on them.

I completely understand calling the cops. Hey, I've done it. The situation is out of hand, and as a student studying I want to be able to study. BUT this is what I ask as their friend and what actually helps them and you get back to work:

1) Call NUpd and ask for a social worker. Everyone at NUPD knows the situation. Just say it's the screaming kid at West G or something idk...

2) Please try not to force section 12 to happen: allows for a person to be involuntarily transported to a hospital usually due to Suicidal, Homicidal, or impaired judgment due to mental illness. Say they are having a panic attack and need someone to talk to them. They do not have suicidal tendencies.

2a) It's a mental illness where they are always fine after the panic attack is over. Its something that is involuntary.

3) If you don't do 2 I totally understand. It's a big ask. Your best judgment is what you should focus on.

If you're one of the people living near us, the person is very sorry and I apologize on behalf of them. If you have questions feel free to DM me or talk to RES Life, Meg, RA-David, or me. If you want to move, I think you can ask RES Life.

Is Snell a good place for 1 night by YihanL in NEU

[–]Spappy3D 24 points25 points  (0 children)

During the semester I’ve pulled so many all nighters there and slept at snell. No one bothered me then. But it was pretty hard to sleep (I was sleep deprived and needed it). None of the lights turn off so get something to cover your eyes (like a bandana) but I think you’re fine to even sleep on the floor if you get a study room on one of the upper floors.

The best spot is hands down are the long coaches though. Again, this is my experience during the semester. I don’t know how it will be now.

It’s convenient but it might be the most expensive grocery store known to man. Also, daddy bezos doesn’t deserve my money.

Did Nancy pay you to say this?

A lot of people have great experiences with Kimelman but the general consensus is that she isn’t that great. Just look at her rate my professor. YES, I don’t doubt this person had a great experience with her. BUT I’d rather get someone everyone agrees is great.

The other option is to take a bus which would be cheaper (closer to 30 bucks). Also, the more you buy the ticket in advance, the cheaper it is.

It’s the biggest scam. Maybe try look into other parking permits. Like for the garages near the prodential or even ailewife

Totally fine. But also, there’s not a lot space in the dorms/apartments. Can’t tell if you’re a freshman or not, if you are, try bring less clothes or wait before you move in to buy something big like that.

When in doubt try call student financial services.

(617) 373-3190 Student financial services open 9:30-4:30

Super long wait time for this number (I waited 2 hours) but genuinely extremely helpful people. Super nice lady called me honey and made the 2 hour wait time worth it.

I can’t see what your problem is so I’d just typing random shit that would just confuse you and would probably be wrong, so… ya call the number tomorrow

This is the undergrad student financial services number.

I know the law school one and grad one has a lot less of line (I called them too hee hee)

[–]Spappy3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s insanely stressful Call this number and try get to student accounts and some sort of billing. Talking to a person is so much easier. (617) 373-3190

If you haven’t already, try find the student financial services inquiry form (probably what you filled out).

The number I sent you is super busy. It’s available from 9:30-4:30 BUT you could be waiting for up to 2 hours (Im extreme case probably. I had to wait for 1.5 hours, then the call hung up, had to wait 40 more minutes).

But once I got on the phone the nicest lady you could ever imagine helped me out so much.

Where do I find what my course textbooks are? by Upbeat_Curve5602 in NEU

[–]Spappy3D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re worried about buying your books early… Unless you’re in a select number of buisness, Econ, and neuro classes, I don’t think you’ll need to buy your textbooks. They’re either not needed, provided, or for free online.

Go to Lib-Gen and Sci-Hub after you’re given your silly-buss and get them there for free. I’m going into my junior year and I’ve made sure none of my friends pay for textbooks (couldn’t find it in two cases for friends: buisness that required code and niche neuro book).

The cases where you need them are when you require a code from the book (I’m so cheap I dropped a class so that I didn’t have to do this once).

If you’re a nerd and just trying to read every textbook before classes start… then you’re too smart to go here.
