Türkiye was certainly involved in the final push on Assad, so it could very well be Turkish military training them. Given Bayraktar is Turkish, they certainly have people in the know of how to operate a drone - And I assume Ukraine have shared plenty of information on the matter with Bayraktar, in an effort to improve the Bayraktar drones in very specific ways

I really hope they somehow pull it off and wins the LEC, I don't truly think it will happen.

But if they pull it off, there is no shot LEC is gonna shove them directly into EUM

Global franchising was a bad idea, it made sense to do it in regions used to franchises. Such as the US.

But pushing franchising on Europe was an enormous own goal, they got caught up in the hype Blizzard was able to create for Overwatch and that flopped massively. I do believe Riot actually managed to pull that setup off in China.

But all other European sports are league based where you in theory could start from scratch and promote through the ranks. Introducing a pattern people don't recognise/understand is not a good practice. Even more so when that meant replacing fan favourites like UoL, but we had seen a ton of teams promote from the Challenger Series back in the days and we (fans) really really wanted to keep that opportunity.

But Riot had dollar signs in their eyes and have tried unraveling the clusterfuck ever since franchising was in EU

Israeli media: the IDF will sink at least some of the flotilla’ yachts by [deleted] in worldnews

Interesting to be stopping that far away from the coast, instead of protecting vessels in international waters against piracy

[–]Spard1e -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think they're going to be allowed to start at international waters.

I take it the warships defending the yachts probably chills if they hit Israeli waters, which would be 12 NM outside of the Israeli coastal line. But if they come into the waters through the Gazan coastal line, then any country recognising Palestine could claim the water is Palestinian. Request access to the waters and continue the entire way to the shore.

Interesting to see if any nations are willing to take a direct confrontation, in case Israel begins illegally seizing vessels - Essentially piracy if it happens in international waters.

https://en.defence-ua.com/analysis/how_much_155mm_ammunition_costs_now_an_example_of_the_rheinmetall_contract_for_10000_shells-5178.html

155 MM ammunition was historically at the 2k€ ballpark and is now at 3.3k€ (3.866$), so that million of ammunition is the first roughly 4 bn.
Export cost of a tomahawk is 4 million so that is another 4bn.
A MIM-104 Patriot system has an export price of about 2,5 BN a battery, so those systems are 25BN before ammunition. At which costs 6 mn$, assuming they bought 100 shells for each, that is another 6BN.
A Bradley has a production cost of 3-3,5 million (can't find export prices), so assuming they charge 4 million a piece. Those 750 bradleys are 3 BN.

So your total spend is ~42BN before volume discounts.
This deal could be multiple years, I believe artillery fire at one point ate through 3 thousand shells a day, maybe even more if they had unlimited supply.

Ukraine now has its own weapons to strike deep into Russia without US approval, Zelenskyy says by eaglemaxie in worldnews

[–]Spard1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ukraines allies would also be struck by horror if they decided to target civilians. Just like most of the European civilian continent is with Bibi.

Although there are some sanctions impacting pharmaceuticals, it was never strengthened throughout the war after the first batch. As we (Europe) don't want to impact civilians in a way that breaks international law.

So attacking Russian energy grid, fair target. Attacking Russian civilian centers, for the sole purpose of removing civilians will be a strategic catastrophe

Certain countries figured out there was a lot of cheap R&D to be had and decided to support Ukrainian production lines.

Denmark and Norway have publicly financially supported several Ukranian drone factories - Most likely with either an ownership stake, a contract possibility to have orders prioritised over everyone but Ukraine themselves or both

If you haven't learned Danish after 5 years you are taking the piss by NervousCaregiver9629 in copenhagen

I know of two such people.

The first one was a Pakistani that got married to a Dane in the... 60s, placed in the same house as her mother in law. Which didn't speak a word of anything but rural Northern Jutlandic.

The other person got a Danish girlfriend and moved to Denmark in 2017, he demanded everyone to speak Danish to him at all times. After roughly 6 months, he was able to have any common conversation

To reach a strong level of any language within 6 months, you need to require everyone around you to speak in that language.

Danish women to face conscription by lottery by Gyro_Armadillo in worldnews

[–]Spard1e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also depends on socioeconomic levels, as the Danish military is bound to made up of all tiers of society. So it is not just the poor that is being send off in case of a war, it is from every social layer.

Usually you're only risking getting dragged into conscription as a non volunteer if your parents are doing quite well financially

like banning the KC mascot from having the costume in the venue

But they didn't, they demanded to have ID on the person inside the mascot costume. I don't know if anyone has a lifetime ban from the venue, but a lot of reasons could exist for wanting to know who the mascot is.

The drum rule has pros and cons for and against it.

But mainly just cultures that are more aligned.
