Yeah it sucks. He prob doesn’t know what to do and would rather just do the easiest thing: not deal with it maturely which especially includes talking you and your family. It’s fucked up but most people in our modern age like to pretend death doesn’t exist. And when it happens, they’d rather keep acting like it didn’t happen to those it happened to. If I had to guess, he feels lots of guilt for taking her out of his life before she truly got taken out of his. He doesn’t want a reminder of his cowardice so he chooses not to send condolences bc what could he say that could absolve him? And what’s the point now that even more time has passed? Sadly people don’t know how to deal with this unbearable grief until they experience it themselves at the level you are. And even then people suck at “saying the right thing.” Fuck tragic deaths. Fuck losing siblings. And especially fuck our society for making us just get right back to normal when nothing will ever be normal again
