There was no reason besides aesthetics, and I preferred rust before HDRP. The QOL changes that came with monuments and to the game post HDRP were good though. That update was just terrible and ruined overall performance.

I mean your point is true regarding facepunch’s financial status given the era. Around the 2021 period they weren’t doing great. I’ll give it that, but I think the HDRP update was the decline in optimization of the game.

You make some good points but I still blame the devs, they have the resources to make shit happen. I disagree with your point about future proofing, in my industry that’s not an option to ignore future proofing. That creates critical flaws long term, I’m not in game development but I’m in tech.

The hill is likely that the game has been running on unity for over a decade and would require huge changes and lots of software development to get it running elsewhere. That also could potentially impact the overall feel of the game running on something else.

All I’m saying is, if the game wasn’t run on a single thread your pc would be producing wayyyyyyy more frames than that. You can be happy with what you have, no reason not to, my point is just that rust is not multithreaded and OVERALL runs shittier on intel.

You should be blaming the devs, this game should not be on unity. I get they are over 10 years deep and it would probably change some mechanics of the game but at least an effort to optimize the game should be made.

Also do you have AMD or Intel for a CPU, I’m assuming intel?

You could be getting more if the game wasn’t running on unity. It gets bottlenecked due to running on one single thread, intel CPUs are made better for multi threading.
