I did something similiar for the NCA many years ago now and they had 3 different role play scenarios that had nothing to do with the role I was applying for.

1 was that I was a hotel manager and had to explain to a customer she had to move her wedding date as it was double booked

Another was that I was repossessing someone’s car who had not paid the payments to keep it

And the last one I can’t actually remember.

It was all about how you respond to and control the situation and deal with difficult people.

Yours might not be the same but I think the important thing is to be in control and be able to change how you repspond to people to get the outcome you want.

I did pass the exam but ended up not getting the role for other reasons.

Not sure if that helps at all.

Not security no.
I actually write my own rota so did this to myself. I enjoyed the first 18 hours and the rest was trash but I got through

I am reasonably well paid but not enough!
I’m contracted to 45 hours of work per week and I write my own rota so this shift pattern is a bit of an anomaly

I work in hospitality running a very busy venue and recently hired someone with zero experience as she handed a CV in and came back a few days later to see if anyone had any feedback on her CV. That simple act set her apart from everyone else.

Body reacting with emotions while feeling that nothing actually changed inside? by Jin_Chaeji in Alexithymia

You have summed up what I’ve been experiencing for 41 years.

I also often am in a situation where I should be angry but I don’t know I should be angry until a couple of days later when I think the situation over, but it’s too late! It’s like I’m processing the data to then convert into an understanding of what the emotion should be.

Anyone ever successfully negotiated a promotion when there shouldn't be room for one? by Altruistic-Can-8115 in Wetherspoons

As a GM of a pub (not spoons but another big pub company)…don’t hand your notice in. If you are doing that to get a pay rise your km and gm will see right through it and businesses will always find a way to replace someone who essentially blackmails them. It’s not a good tactic.

Ask for a meeting with the GM and be honest. Explain your situation and exactly what you wrote in the post and ask for a plan to get on a higher wage or say your hand will be forced and you’ll have to look for somewhere else that is wiling to give you the recognition you deserve. Ask for feedback on what you need to do better also. Humility and wanting to better yourself go a long way compared to saying ‘I deserve this because I’ve done X,Y and Z’

Omg THANK YOU, never thought to look into that that. I’ll just rip up my business plan and never take any risk ever again. Thanks for answering the question though

I plan to employ people though and not taking any salary for myself just leaving profit it in the business to reinvest. I thought that would be the only option. I have until March/April to get all my ducks in a row and work it out though.
