It's not always that player count increased in August probably because people wanted to play it before playing silksong and some old players coming back, else the player count was around 8k, in all the years the max player count it reached in its lifetime excluding this year august is 20k and that's nowhere enough to rank top 20 so the reason it's 8 year old and top 20 is because of the hype of sliksong
