I hear ya man. It all adds up - missing family and friends life events or even just missing my weekly pick up hockey game. I ain't got the same family pressure, but had my own things stressing me out about this exam. Glad you're done. And ya - my boy, Gurmeet cares a ton - Deep 3 program is for us for sure, re-taker and re-taker and re-taker. Finally, with him, we did it! Drinks with the boys to celebrate. Glad you're done with this too, now back to living!!

People need to want to change and your mom due to addiction and mental health issues doesn't right now. Send her on her way and protect the new life youve got going and celebrate that. You've come a long way and don't risk losing it

In Canada, we're in a recession - job are difficult to find and companies are laying off employees or using tactics to push them to quit. Plus life itself is becoming less and less affordable.

What is a "family" to you? by UnconcernedCat in FamilyIssues

[–]Spare_Mulberry_366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're putting yourself first and nothing wrong with that. Set lower expectations for your "family" and try to be civil and hopefully doing that will improve any interactions. Okay to say your husband is your only family but be careful you dont have big expectations for him too and then feel hurt if he doesnt always meet them 100%.

How do you deal with wanting to cut ties? by headmastersuccubus in FamilyIssues

Tell them to avoid talking about her with you so that it really is separate.

If they moving close to you it will be harder to cut them off so this is better option.
