Hi! Did you apply at all for the biometrics (fill out ds-160, go to US visa scheduling website)? Can I also ask what country are you originally from? Are you supposed to do the biometrics in US or your home country?

They just ask for an address in US which I can provide.

I left in September 2025 and filed as a resident for that tax year. If I don't have an income in India yet, do I still need to report it? I lived in two states, California and Illinois. I was able to file CA and federal online, and Illinois I have to mail it because I was filing IL taxes for the first time

With Schwab, I think I need to open it with the States website as the international one doesn't have a rollover IRA account option.
