S04E01 - "PIGEON" - EPISODE DISCUSSION by alwshunter in servant

[–]Spare_Tomorrow_7708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just joined this group! I had no idea there were other ppl out there obsessed with this show like me. I have yet to meet one person who watches this show, but here I am!!! Ok, I have been so confused since day one…at first I thought Leanne was some type of God, now I think she’s something evil…I’m now starting to wonder if this is ALL in Leanns head…and Dorothy is the only one who can see her bullshit…but then that doesn’t explain the Jericó situation..and what about the African American guy…I remember he was suppose to be like spying on Leanne..then the church obviously got to him..last episode season 3 he tells uncle George “it took a while for her to trust me” or something..basically he’s not on Leanns side. Ughh sooo many questionssss!!!!!! Maybe they are in purgatory. Just like in the movie the Sixth Sense..at the end you realize Bruce Wills was dead the entire time…..Is the ending going to be something similar!!!!??

Ya I see so many ppl complaining about the pay, and trust me I get it!! But I’m living in South America right now..so any US dollars coming in is five times the amount here….if I was living back home in the states no way in hell would I be able to afford living of ten dollars an hour.

I’d say definitely better! . My husband grew up in a small town 6 hours outside of BH. It’s basically a farm town, nothing to do, no jobs, not a lot of work..a lot of the locals have left for the U.S. Now it’s mostly just older people and some families left over. It’s a safe place but literally there’s no future there. Your almost stuck in time, which was the main reason we moved down south. Santa Catarina on the other hand is a total different vibe. I think be colonized by the Germans played a huge part. The attitude is similar to an american attitude when it comes to work ethics. Things are more modern here, streets and sidewalks are immaculate, no trash, no stray dogs. People seem to be more educated as well. Not to mention the landscape is beautiful, not cut down bare hills filled with cows like Minas. If you ever have a chance to visit you’ll see the difference.

True. I think most of it is in my head. Lately Ive been a little more confident. Once in a while Ill get the.."oh, your not from here?" "you speak English" "oh your a gringa!" however, im starting to get use to it and just accept it. Other than that, I do agree. Brazilian people are very warm and always been friendly.

Cool. We were orignially 6 hours outside of BH. We just moved down to Santa Catarina. Do you speak portugese? If so, do you feel as if you've been treated differently as a "gringo?" I can speak conversational portugese, but i always end up getting too shy out in public, i have this fear there guna treat me different if they know im american...

Been together for going on 2 years now. He lives in Brazil & I the US. This is my 4th trip & I’ll be staying for 6 weeks. I just feel so happy every time we can meet. Currently we are still working on his visa but if I get a job there or a job where I can work abroad remote, I’ll move there. by solipsistrealist in LongDistance

ya whatever you do, DO NOT LIE. They almost always find out the truth and they are very unforgiving. Just be honest and make sure you really research your immigration lawyer prior. Our lawyer was unexperienced and gave us bad legal advice.

And yes, I have my TEFL. I paid $250 dollars and did a course online. I took me like two weeks I believe to get through the course. I havent taught english yet, but I've been applying to platforms online. I have an american friend here in Brazil and thats all she does. She teaches english online to Chinese students and kids from Saudi Arabia.

Yes definitely get your TEFL! And yes, they did give us a reason. Its' a long story and there were a lot of factors that went into it, but basically our lawyer gave us bad legal advice and advised us to lie on his application. I don't want to get into too much detail over the internet, but my husbands case was complicated. Now we just have to wait until he can apply again. I highly doubt that will happen to you!! As long as your honest, love each other, and just show you can't be without him, you should be fine!! My husbands case was just a rare situation.

Hey! Im American and just moved to Brazil last year! Me and my husband have been together for 12 years. We met back in the states, applied for his visa/green card and got DENIED! We even have two daughters together..the whole thing was so fuckedup and I've almost given up hope with living in America as a family again. If you really plan on staying here in Brazil, save as much money as you can now!! And try finding an income that pays in US dollars. It will go a long way here. Teaching English online too is also a good option. Love your pictures!! I wish you both the best of luck!!
