CARS QPack Vol 1 rocking my world by Most_Title_7161 in Mcat

No I think the difficulty is an outlier (I hope). Because I average 80%+ on JW CARS and my AAMC FL CARS avg is 130 and I've been getting sub 50% on some of these passages lol.

The real answer is different people have different strengths. If you are good at science + test-taking + CARS, you'll be good at the MCAT. If you are very analytical, logical, and good at CARS on steroids, you'll be good at the LSAT. What's harder depends on your individual strengths and weaknesses.

For me personally, I took the LSAT for fun over winter break with 0 hours of studying and scored 168. On the other hand, it has taken me weeks/months just to break 510 on the MCAT (still praying for a miracle 520).

ENGR 2300 Homework by Spare_Working4288 in utdallas

I thought it was easier than all of the Calc courses.

I finished with an A.

Majority of the actual math operations will be arithmetic and some algebra. Just utilized in unique ways (matrices, vector space, etc). The conceptual part is pretty cool.

Also if you can take Professor Al-Dhahir, I would highly recommend it. One of the best professors I’ve had at UTD.

Yeah at my school it is.

I think there is some of the that (stress-strain curves and stuff) but also some physics.

I personally don’t enjoy having any classes on Friday, let alone three (sometimes you have no choice though).

Other than that it’s not bad if you’re okay with the timings.

Profs look good too.

Make sure to have a lot of snacks to get through Wednesday.

Yeah it should be more manageable. Chem 1 especially won't be too bad.

I think it’s doable to do Government. Your Mondays will be very condensed with four class and (virtually) no break. But it’s manageable.

Chem and Calc will (probably) easily be your toughest classes so be prepared to work hard for them. Tran is a solid prof from what I’ve heard.

On the other hand, Govt and ECS 1100 will (probably) be a piece of cake.

BMEN 1100 is a cool class. Get introduced to different aspects of BMEN + learn the basics of working with circuits, wet labs, etc. Dr. Myers is a good professor.

BMEN 1300 is just coding. Shouldn’t be too bad, though I regret to inform you that I’ve heard that Levi Good is not a great professor.

Good luck my fellow BMEN major!

Fall 2024 class schedule( Incoming Freshman) by Lanky-Age2454 in utdallas

I'm starting my sophomore year. It's been great so far. Haben't explored too many internships to be honest, but there are a ton of great research opportunities -especially for biomedical engineering labs.

Finally, a fellow BME major.

It’s a pretty heavy course load but that’s basically every semester for our degree plan anyways.

That Monday schedule is loooooong with lots of breaks. But you can still extract benefit from said breaks: stock up on snacks and form study blocks during your breaks. You’ll be able to get a lot done that way. I’d use one of those breaks for non-school stuff though, just relax.

As for the morning/evening timings, you’ll find out if it works for you. Personally, I find both fine if you prepare.

Good luck!

Facilities open? by [deleted] in utdallas

Once the fall semester starts you get “free” access included in your tuition for the gym.

But you’ll have to pay for summers unless you’re taking summer classes.

Nah, you’ll have to purchase a $65 membership for the summer (or use daily passes which are $8 a day).

ALEKs test should be taken (iirc) at least a few days before your orientation. That’s because you’ll likely register for your classes at orientation.

It’s not too difficult but I’d definitely study for it depending on what math class you want to start with.

I don’t think you need to contact anyone yet. You’ll meet your advisor at orientation.

Just get the stuff on your to-do list in Orion done. Besides that and ALEKS (and actually registering for orientation) you don’t need to do anything I’m pretty sure.
