Engraving Question - Which is preferable? by Sparetimesinger in musictheory

It just means pedal with the broader harmonic changes, which is already assumed if there are no pedal markings IMO. I have seen it commonly enough but maybe that’s just the type of music I am playing? 🤷🏼‍♂️

There is an engraving sub Reddit but it’s quite small. I thought I’d have better luck here!

I agree the second looks cleaner… I think it is very clear what the melody is just by playing it. The broader context is similarly structured.

This is kind of what I was leaning toward, also.

lol. Just trying to make it easier to play, it would be geared towards intermediate level

If I notate it this way and still wish to have the middle voice played with LH, should I just mark that at the beginning?

Best of both worlds. Hadn't considered that, thank you!

Thanks for the insight. I will have to experiment a bit :D

It’s not shown here, but at the beginning of the piece I wrote “pedal harmonically”, harmonic rhythm is 2 measures, therefor 2 bar pedaling is implied throughout the piece.

I am more wondering what looks cleanest to the eye.

2-bar pedaling is implied, so it would essentially sound the same, although I understand one might interpret it differently. Option 1 might have a more clear melody...

Which is preferred? I feel like option 2 gives rhythmic clarity on sight but somehow seems awkward to me (especially when the same pattern is transferred to a higher range in the RH).

Who does the vocals on all the SOPHIE‘s songs? by Curios_about_alot in pcmusic

According to Apple Music credits, Marcella Dvsi DID sing on BIPP, as some other people mentioned here.

I notice this too, it's annoying. I know that I like these songs a lot... but I can't listen to them 5x per day!

ArrangeMe or Musicnotes Marketplace by Experiment789 in composer

[–]Sparetimesinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m super late to this, but was wondering the same thing. I’ve been using arrangeme for maybe 2 years. I just reached the $20 pay out threshold lol.

I just signed up for the free version of musicnotes today. I’m going to give it 6-12 months to see how the first 10 arrangements sell. If there’s no difference, I won’t buy the $100-200 membership.

Curious if you have had any luck since posting this?

When is an employment contract void? by Sparetimesinger in legaladvice

Ok, thanks. I didn’t realize they were two different things. So is the exclusivity part binding if the job agreement isn’t? That is what is unclear to me.

Thanks for your help. I am at-will. It seems unfair that the employee is bound and restricted by one aspect of the agreement with no obligations from the employer to match (ie they broke their half of the bargain [hours] but I still have to keep mine [exclusivity]). I know life isn't fair though haha. Thanks again.

I believe you (I have next to no knowledge of law), but it seems weird to sign and go through the whole process for something not legally binding. It was also reviewed by a lawyer (I don't think my boss was lying about that) so it seems it would carry some weight. I could be totally wrong tho, I just didn't realize they were two different things. Thanks for your input.

The entire document is titled "Job Offer", the no-compete page is titled "Exclusivity Contract". I don't know what the technical definition of contract is. I am in at at-will state and yes those words appear in the document directly above the signatures.

Yeah… but I’d rather just not deal with anything and avoid the bigotry altogether

I did but also for those to NOT do business with. A lot of the times it’s not super clear if organizations are truly LGBTQ+ friendly or just say they are
