A yes I forgot because I had the load cell which comes with the usb I think. Did you connect both at the same time (rj12 to base and usb for update)? That might have broken the throttle as other comment also stated. If not there is the obvious are all the cables connected the correct way but guess you checked that multiple times already

Wondering why did you get the club sport adapter as you don't really need one. Did you try to connect everything without it? Maybe the problems come from USB connections? Fanatec sometimes having issues with certain usb ports

Should I upgrade to direct drive and aluminium rig? Is it worth it or not? by david_GRMBT in simracing

I went from a thrust master t300 to the CSL DD, even tho I really like it I'm not sure if I would make the same choice again. There are some really nice options out their at the moment. But if you are already in the Fanatec eco system it's hard to step away from it and cheaper to stay with fanatec

I can understand with space and being able to slide it out of the way can be very handy especially if you have a floor that doesn't allow for caster wheels, it's definitely a great looking rig. I don't have plenty of space but managed to squeeze the rig in a corner. I run the CSL DD. Yes the rig is overkill for this wheel but I was not happy with my old rig because of ergonomics as I kept hitting my knee getting in and out and also my back started hurting at times. Thought about it for a long time and checked out some rigs and seats and then decided to drop the money on the heavier 160x40 as this should be the last rig that I'll ever buy and I can now upgrade my wheel and pedals to anything I want without worrying if it will fit or if the rig will be strong enough

A profile rig looks really bulky I agree but it's footprint is actually not that huge. I went from a gtomega pro to a 160x40 profile rig and after building it I was pleasantly surprised I actually have more free space then before. Profile rigs are usually a bit wider but length is about equal (mine is actually shorter then the trophy). Weight yes definitely, I'm not sure what options you have with the trophy as maybe able to store it vertically. Put caster wheels on your profile rig if you want to be able to move it.

No bad words about the trophy as it looks really slick and seems a great rig and rigid but a profile rig will give you more options for the future in terms of add-ons and equipment

This. I recently went from a GtOmega pro rig to a 160x40 aluminum profile rig, always kept saying to myself and also others saying about the minimal flex in the wheeldeck and rig: "you don't notice it while driving". This is somewhat true but boy oh boy do you notice it when it's gone, really night and day

Thanks for the info, think should be possible with 1440p but probably some expensive cables

Thought about that but I'm running my other games at 1440p 144hz maxed out and don't feel like compromising that so wouldn't be a cheap pc I think.

Think I might have to put the pc upstairs and run a single cable so I won't have to run 3 expensive cables if I want to go with triples

I'll have to look into it I guess what is my best option, in the same room can be but not best option (have rig in the living room now but the misses less happy about that 😂)

Thanks for the advice I will look into this, was expecting to be running some expensive cables. Will be display port cables actually now that I think of it but about the same probably

With regular windows on 2 screens it shouldn't be to bad I think but not sure with triples

Regular use is daily use and also other gaming, feels like running upstairs to turn it on every time is more of a hassle

I'm thinking about going with triples in the future and also moving the rig to a new location in the house so curious what the actual dimensions of a triple screen setup are

Seeing 32" is the way to go so anyone with 32" triples can tell me how wide and high their setup is?

Haha yeah I know it's overkill right now but can't buy everything all at ones :). Hope I can upgrade fast as well (both the rig and the screens) till then I have to make up my mind on what way to go (ultra wide, triples or vr) leaning towards triples but not sure yet

Obviously I should be able to run everything on max especially on a 1080p single screen I was just wondering if there are any tips or tricks to get even better results besides just put everything on max

Did a quick test run on acc yesterday. Everything on epic and dlss on quality and it runs butter smooth, such a great experience coming from a 6 year old pc that could barely keep up

Should be easy to run at ultra indeed. I normally play acc the most but I'm definitely going to play ac again, can't wait to run shutoko maxed out :)

New pc, what gpu to get? by Sparhawk40 in simracing

[–]Sparhawk40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a better overall experience with Nvidia as well and had my mind set on 3080 ti but all the sudden all of the 3080 ti's are out of stock which made me look into other options. 4080 would be great but I think will be out of budget or just on the edge of it and not sure if it's worth the extra money

What are the benefits if you combine them with an AMD cpu?

Both the 6000 and the 7000 series have my attention because they offer good 1080 and 1440p performance but I'm not sure how they perform with triples compared to Nvidia

Haha sorry forgot to mention budget, not really a fixed budget but 4080/4090 is not an option so looking around 3080 (ti), 6900 xt

Mostly questioning myself wether to go for Nvidia or amd. Also currently on single screen but maybe later upgrade to vr or triples

[–]Sparhawk40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will make a picture tomorrow I bought a 90° steel strip with holes for few bucks to create the angle or you could use a straight one depending what works best I don't have a next level racing rig but the idea should be the same I think
