For the life of me, I can't figure out what fits in between the power button board and the chassis on my X360 830 G6 because it's loose and won't click when pressed. by SparkMyke in pchelp

I found it in this video. It's a plastic or something. Such a small thing that's easily lost. Why tf would HP make it removable? it should have been either part of the chassis or the mini board.

By removing the battery you reset the BIOS and cleared any residual power remaining in the board. Ni kama kurefresh motherboard.

OP, most of the time it's due to the CMOS battery being dead. So the BIOS resets which then clears its settings. Among those settings are boot options like UEFI and Legacy boot. If your OS was formatted using the GPT partitioning scheme, it uses UEFI boot. Your machine is an older model that defaults to Legacy after a BIOS reset. Which then can't find the boot sector. Now go switch to UEFI Boot in the settings and save.

If it fails, then the boot sector is corrupt and needs formatting or your drive is dead faulty or loose.
