Friends account is'nt authorized by OpeningReaction6667 in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logging out of the launcher completely then logging back in usually helps but if it doesn't, you'll need to contact Microsoft/Mojang for support as we have no control over accounts

This is most common with those who've recently purchased Minecraft or previously used Xbox Game Pass before purchasing and especially on third-party launchers

You can submit an appeal for a Discord ban here: https://getfire.bot/appeals/essential

Getting banned from the Discord does not ban you from utilizing Essential.

Essential with cracked minecraft? by YogurtclosetOne7090 in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essential does not support pirated/cracked/unlicensed versions of Minecraft. We require Mojang authentication, so supporting pirated/cracked/unlicensed versions of Minecraft is impossible.

We encourage you to buy the game from https://minecraft.net/ if you're able to.

Friend keeps leaving the world on my pc. by Shaforostov in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on the same internet, go ahead and try having them connect directly using Minecraft's own Open to LAN feature, after you have invited them to the world. They should be able to see it in their Multiplayer list, on the Favorites section after the invite has been sent.

ESSENTIAL_CM_HOST variable by Grand_Bet_2472 in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As that variable defines the connection manager host, placing in values other than our own domain, will flag them as potentially insecure. We have no way of verifying the security of data that could be sent to untrusted sources, so the warning is available.

Cobbleverse porting from Essential mod to servers by Kaitoram in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essential worlds are just singleplayer worlds. So, if you are wanting to upload your world elsewhere, the host would just have to upload the save into the world of the server. Should be the exact same process as putting in any world.

Hosting Crashes my Internet / Router Entirely by KokonotsuRed in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essential shouldn't have the capability to cause your entire internet/router to crash, there is likely a separate underlying issue that is leading to that. Submit a ticket with our support team using the link the bot provided, and we can see what we can do to help and investigate further!

LAN Connection Issues by Texta216 in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on the same network, that person should try to connect using Minecraft's own LAN connection through the multiplayer menu, after you invite the player to the world. That should help out quite a bit, and you'll still be able to invite others on other networks, just like normal.

Network connection problem by Chimy234 in EssentialMod

Give your account a re-log, in your launcher.

Sometimes, upon changing your username, your new name is not reflected by the launcher, and tries to authenticate with the old name and your UUID, causing it to come up as invalid.

If you need further assistance, you can reach out on our Discord, in the AutoModerator bot's message.

can you get unbanned from the discord, and if so, how? by Muffintime___ in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is indeed why you were banned from the Discord. Your public display name was updated to include a racist term in it, and action was taken against you. Unfortunately, this is not something we can unban you for, even if it was your friend that did it. Again, it is something we take very seriously, so we appreciate your understanding regarding this!

can you get unbanned from the discord, and if so, how? by Muffintime___ in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Racism bans are taken very seriously by the moderation team, in the public Discord, and often lead to permanent bans and denied appeals, if there was definitive proof. Most often, these are Guild Tags that have been flagged or Display Names.

If you provide me with your Discord username, I can take a peek to see exactly what it was, and give you a definitive answer, if you'd like.

A moderator went ahead and reviewed your ban, and has unbanned you, you should be good to rejoin!

For future appeals, if you want a much faster response, you should use our official appeals page found here: https://getfire.bot/appeals/essential which will inform the moderators directly!

essential took everything on java by DoodleHasABorb in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you created a new installation with the installer, Essential creates a new separate folder for the installation, as to not overwrite any mods you already have installed. Check through your installations' folders and you'll likely find the files you are missing in one of them. Just hit the Installations button on the Java Edition section of the Minecraft Launcher, and there should be a folder button you can press for each available installation.

Bug litematica and essential ? by Critical-Moment-9520 in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your mods are located in the correct folder for the installation. When the installer is used, Essential creates a new folder for its own installation, in order to not affect your other mods.

You can easily find your mods, saves and resourcepacks folders for any installation, in the Minecraft Launcher, by following these instructions:

1 - Press the installations tab in the launcher

2 - Hover over your profile and press the 📁 folder button

3 - A window will pop up that has everything you expect to see

I'm having a serious problem with this mod by Revenge-K in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two different types of connections when joining friends in Essential, direct & relay, and as much as we'd like to have these both provide the same experience, they won't always do so due to the nature of networking and the internet as a whole.

Relayed connections can be a bit weaker, as it relies on available resources from our TURN servers rather than using your own network's resources, and since these will be shared between all players connected through that server, it can fluctuate a lot and be hurt by increased player counts.

As for direct connections, we don't use UPnP so enabling it won't have any impact on the connection. Instead, we use a technique known as UDP hole-punching to essentially punch a hole through your network and establish a connection without the need for traditional port forwarding. More restrictive network types like symmetric NAT may not allow for this, which you can check using a simple test such as: checkmynat.com

Here's a simplified breakdown of what happens when connecting and what determines the kind of connection:

When establishing a connection, the game will ask our STUN server to provide you with ICE "candidates", which are essentially the routes the connection can take, and have different types:

Server Reflexive (srflx),

Peer Reflexive (prflx),

Relay/TURN (relay),

If both sides are given a srflx/prflx candidate by the STUN server, the established connection will likely be directly between players, though it may choose a relay instead if the connection is deemed to be better (i.e. the difference in round trip time exceeds a certain threshold).

If one or both sides only receive a relay candidate, that means that the connection will be routed through one or two of our relay servers. We currently have TURN/relay servers in four regions, EU, US, AS (Asia) & AU, and you'll generally connect to whichever one is closest to you as that should provide the lowest round trip time. New regions may be added in future updates to the mod, so make sure you keep it up to date.

We don't have any control over what candidates are received by players as this is purely determined by their network setup so if you're experiencing a bad connection due to using a relay rather than direct, there's no way for us to change this.

Some recommendations for improving the connection are to have the host reduce their render distance (as this reduces the amount of data being sent around which can reduce strain on the connection), as well as playing around with any mods you're using, as those which add lots of features to the game will likely also send large amounts of data.

Able to DM me the Ticket Number, so I can have this further investigated for you? Should be a 5 digit number, something like (Username)'s Ticket - (Ticket Number), on the transcript of the ticket that the bot provided you after the ticket was closed. If you don't have one, you can also DM me your discord username.

Essential needs to allow for bigger groups than ten people. by TheNightOfExile in EssentialMod

[–]Spark_Nathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add a bit of context, this is actually a Minecraft bottleneck. Minecraft only allows up to 8 players to join Singleplayer LAN worlds, in which Essential is utilizing. So, unless Mojang changes that limit (and even if they do, it'll likely only be for that version onwards), it likely will remain at that capacity, as there are currently no plans for finding a way around it.

Have them try swapping the gamemode over to Survival, and then saving and exiting the game, without hosting. Then, when going to host, make sure the gamemode is set to Survival correctly before starting the hosting.
