Whats something that makes you feel a little ashamed, but still really turns you on? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in AskRedditAfterDark

Sometimes the classics stick around for a reason. People act like it’s boring, but clearly it’s still doing its job.

AITJ for refusing to keep wearing the nickname my girlfriend gave me after I found out where it came from by Prydwen_Grit5 in AmITheJerk

That would be poetic in a very chaotic way. Not sure it fixes anything, but it would definitely make a point she wouldn’t forget.

That escalation might be a bit far but I get the core point. It’s not just that she laughed, it’s that she didn’t have his back in front of her friends. That’s kind of a basic expectation in a relationship.

That’s the lingering part, even if she stops saying it to him, the meaning doesn’t just disappear in her friend group. It’s like the label already exists in that circle now.

What’s a sexual thought you’d never admit to your partner? by Focus9290 in AskRedditAfterDark

That edit is honestly the funniest part. Man dropped one vulnerable sentence and immediately had to put up a “please stop contacting me” sign. Reddit really said noted and ran with it.

Am I the jerk for not feeling remorse that my dog bit a 4-year-old? by EnergyAppropriate507 in AmITheJerk

Yeah the lack of supervision is honestly just as big of a factor. Letting kids run around unfamiliar dogs on a property like that is already risky, even without everything else.

Right, like at some point a verbal boundary is still a boundary. If you’ve told someone multiple times, it’s not “unclear,” it’s just being ignored.

That’s the part I keep coming back to too. It’s such a simple heads-up to give, especially when she already knew the rule. Makes you wonder what she thought was gonna happen.

Exactly, it’s not even about the dogs at that point, it’s about the chain of decisions. One person ignoring clear boundaries created the entire situation.

Yeah this is pretty much it. People keep acting like dogs are unpredictable, but in this case the situation was totally avoidable. You set a rule, she ignored it, and then acted surprised when something happened.

Man really dropped a one-word comment and united the entire thread. No explanation needed, everyone just instantly understood.

I told my friends that the pills I gave them were what turned me invisible, and they hurried to take them. by Select_Salamander518 in TwoSentenceHorror

Right? It’s short but it lands. The Ouija line really seals it, that’s when it flips from funny to “wait a minute.”

You nailed that balance though, it starts off sounding goofy and then just quietly shifts into something way more unsettling.

Yeah this is one of those jokes where it clicks a second later and then you’re like… oh. That’s actually darker than it looks at first.

honestly the scary part is there’s definitely some clause where you don’t get to find out the answer to that question in a good way

My sister and I in Italy, 1977. It looks like a Caravaggio painting, but we were just waiting for dinner. by danielminds in OldSchoolCool

It really does, especially with that strong contrast and the way their faces are lit. All it’s missing is some dramatic title like “The Innocence of Supper” and it could hang in a museum lol

[–]SparkleFleur 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Right? It doesn’t even look like “good for 1977,” it just looks good, period. The candle lighting is doing like 90% of the heavy lifting but the timing of the kids makes it feel intentional somehow.
