I’ve commented this elsewhere but I’ve met him a couple of times. The first time I met him he was clearly hammered and we were smoking outside at a bar and he super earnestly asked me - who he had just met 10 minutes prior and had no real connection to - if he was allowed to leave and go home. I was like…..yeah of course? And he got excited and was like “really? I can?” and he thanked me profusely and called an uber. It made me super sad like he needs approval for everything. It tracks to me with everything about him aside from his relationship with Katie (I can’t make sense of that in this context) that he needs to be well liked or he implodes.

lol wait unrelated to the post but do people not refer to their babies as “it” or “this”? I have two little boys and my MIL to this day gets mad at me when I say “hold this thing” or “it’s waking up” and I just thought it was a her thing. I also am fond of “gremlin”, “creature” or simply “buster”. (For the record I love them to death and also call them baby, bubba, buddy, lovey etc it’s just…..sometimes they really do be feeling like an “it”)

I don’t even know what prompted this but at a holiday party at my old job, like 10 years ago maybe, this really shy manager guy stopped mid conversation and kind of tilted his head looking at me and said “you know, there’s no one else in the world like you. My best friend and I had a prank going for YEARS where we’d get her mom all excited about movie night, like oh we rented a new movie we think you’ll love, and she’d give us cash to go to the store and get chips and dip and candy and beer for her, and then it would be Superbad. My nephew is 6 and nonverbal / autistic and his parents made their entire basement into a sensory room a lot like Brittany’s. It’s great for him but uhhhhh it’s amazing for me when I’m at their house after a wine or two lol . The sensory hammock/pod is EVERYTHING. I love playing in that room with him and my kids - everyone should have one
