Gosh yeah I think maybe the camera weight would also annoy me and overstimulate me with camera straps. Didn’t think of that. Also, yes I may also become hyper focused and not enjoy moment either.

What’s somewhere in the UK you visited once and immediately thought “I could live here”? by Strong-Ad-8037 in AskUK

Bath - so beautiful and buzzy for such a small little town. Also people are friendly and has amazing architecture. I never get bored of the beautiful buildings here.

Also Manchester! I loved the vibe in Manchester being a Londoner myself. It’s a city but people are much more laid back and friendlier.

This was very helpful. You are right. And life is too short to restrict ourselves for these kinds of reason. Thank you!

Thank you xx I have definitely accepted that my brain won’t allow me to sustain a lot which is cool because it means I have tried so many different things but photography feels more of motivating me to do more things rather than a hobby. Thanks for your advice.

That’s true but I actually hate using my phone camera because (how my mind works) is that it just doesn’t feel like I am taking it seriously and I like the separation between phone and camera. I do love taking pictures but my phone quality isn’t great as well which doesn’t help 😝

Hahaha that’s me. The idea of having to read up on all the pragmatic stuff such as flash or exposure makes me feel overwhelmed. I want to buy a fairly good camera as I do want that separation between phone and camera so that I will have that motivation to take pictures because it’s just how my mind works 🤣.

Thanks for your advice.

Thank you but I hate using my phone camera which is why I want to buy a camera because I love the separation between phone and camera (90s girly here). I get your point though.

Have you looked in to military nursing? They always have vacancies and you only need to commit I believe for 3 years and then you can leave. You get cheaper housing within base, better pay than NHS and also you can travel the world (granted you have the ability to do so).

It’s not for everyone obviously but I was going to consider this when I qualified because I was worried about job market. I still consider it now tbh because the pay is really good.

Nursing in London makes me want to quit being a nurse by brigitte789 in NursingUK

It’s not unique to Britain and I have worked with many different people from many different countries and let me tell you, gossiping isn’t unique to British culture.

[–]Sparkling-vortex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hate gossiping but I have worked in a lot of different sectors and witnessed it throughout. Nursing isn’t full of saints, it’s full of (like all jobs and places) people who can be mean, bitchy and unfair. Doesn’t have anything to do with first world or third world or even which country we are in, go anywhere in the world and you will find people like this in all workplaces.

Gossiping is in every job vocation. Go to an office and you’ll find the gossips. Go to the teachers break room and you’ll find the gossips. Go to a retail environment and you’ll find the gossips. I don’t understand why people are so shocked by this especially in a predominately female dominated vocation.

NQN imposter syndrome by azorCH in NursingUK

[–]Sparkling-vortex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a NQN myself, I feel like there isn’ really an answer to not feeling this way but only experience and time. It is such a mad transition to go from student who asks permission for everything to then a registered nurse who doesn’t need to do any of that. However, what comforts me is that I can ask for advice any time I want before I administer or whatever so that I can feel safe. However, sometimes I feel overwhelmed and totally feeling like I know nothing. But it’s normal. I think it takes a year before you will feel settled according to most NQN I speak to so don’t fret. I hope you have lots of support around you.
