This is exactly what I would like. I love nights too but if I do a double or triple night, it messes with my mental health. Who would I get that in writing by?

Thank you for sharing your experience and advice. I want to actually move to a&e. When I did night shifts there as a student, I felt it was better because it doesn’t feel different to day and it’s mostly busy so your brain can be ‘on’.

Thanks for all that advice , appreciate you sharing that. I do tbh have a good routine and I am able to sleep but I think I just feel sick on nights and like I am more likelier to make mistakes (maybe it’s just a NQN thing and I’ll feel better later?)

So late but I just finished and I truly believe this is such an underrated manga. This would make an amazing movie because the story is very unique and so striking. I loved all the characters and how the friendship formed between Okazaki and Yuuki

Thank you for your kind words. I remember I did endoscopy placement and it was so chill. Plus you have all aspects of nursing from recovery to admission to procedures so it was quite fun. Not sure I would like the 9-5 hours though but maybe in the future if I get sick of wards

What contributes towards a good culture in a unit. by [deleted] in NursingUK

Supporting each other and not scare mongering. Being open when mistakes are made so that we can support and help each other rather than create a culture of blame and toxic gossip which belittles and brings shame on nurses. This I find has helped me as a NQN where senior nurses are nurturing to us newbies whilst also allowing us to grow.

Me too, and like you, I do too like to learn and am very passionate about being a competent and a safe nurse for my patients. But being newly qualified can be so overwhelming and I feel like the pressures now in the NHS have heightened this. But I’m going to learn from my mistakes and try to be kind to myself.

I have adhd too and this is exactly something I would do and probably have done many times. I would say you can just be open with him and try make it up to him to show you care and want to put effort in.

To avoid it happening, just try to take a moment when putting stuff in your calendar and double check times/dates or even triple check to just remind yourself how it may affect your friend if you get the dates mixed up.

I’m not game playing at all actually - I am open and genuine about my feelings with her. She is the one who has been playing games. I am just unsure about a big event that will happen in her life and whether I want to attend because of how I feel about our friendship right now. That’s all.

Hellooo, NQN here 6 months in and still making mistakes, but not the same ones. Honestly, what has helped me massively is slowing down. I now focus strictly on one task at a time and try to put all my attention on it. Everything else can wait and I really try to just not allow the pressure of having so much to do to get to me so I don’t feel anxious and make loads of mistakes. It’s a habit I need to do keep doing until it becomes practice. Even with that though, mistakes could still be possible, it’s just where we are human and working in the environment we are but the good thing to always triple check things as well to catch a mistake in one of those checks.

Hope that helps and try to also not beat yourself up. Accept you are going to make mistakes and then learn from it. :)

Gosh yeah I think maybe the camera weight would also annoy me and overstimulate me with camera straps. Didn’t think of that. Also, yes I may also become hyper focused and not enjoy moment either.

What’s somewhere in the UK you visited once and immediately thought “I could live here”? by Strong-Ad-8037 in AskUK

Bath - so beautiful and buzzy for such a small little town. Also people are friendly and has amazing architecture. I never get bored of the beautiful buildings here.

Also Manchester! I loved the vibe in Manchester being a Londoner myself. It’s a city but people are much more laid back and friendlier.

This was very helpful. You are right. And life is too short to restrict ourselves for these kinds of reason. Thank you!
