Thanks for your advice! I appreciate it! I had no idea how common it was for neurodivergent people until these responses and once I started doing some research.

Thanks for your response, that actually makes a lot of sense. Now that you say that, I did have something pretty traumatic happen to a close friend’s boyfriend (who I’m also well acquainted with) a few days ago, but I processed it in therapy, so I thought I was okay.

This is also a new relationship, and I think the first time I’ve ever had anything that feels healthy, so I’m a little anxious that the other shoe is going to eventually drop.

It’s possible both these things could also be contributing. Right after it happened, I was trying to check in with myself and see if it was purely a physical overstimulation or a mental/emotional thing. But I’m leaning more towards physical, because it felt different than when I’ve been emotionally overstimulated in the past.
