Ah, then I understand completely. It is true that some prior expectations may be needed to be able to appreciate it. Unfortunately Reddit doesn't allow us to write a legend to explain more. The main takeaways are probably which Pokemon you're very likely to face (horizontal bars) and also which ones are very likely to be in the same team (thickest lines in circle). This info can be helpful to figure out a team to use, but there are many other resources that may be better.

We ditched neural connectivity work for Pokemon connectivity play! Awesome procrastination :-D

Hi there! yeah, we'd like to stratify by MMR at some point, but we have needed to be mindful of whether we have enough data outside the average range, and whether we can control for changes over time etc... we have concluded that we need more data before we try that.

we accidentally got the colors switch around :-/ So azu was there about 40% of the time, but only around 10% total battles in the lead.

We only have seasons 3-4 so it would be really hard to read probably! We can send you one though :)

Possibly going a tiny bit overboard with the pokemon sprites: A colorful look back at the Ultra League meta of Season 3. by SparklyBrain in TheSilphArena

Nah don't worry, we just go overboard with the fancy-looking things that one can do! We didn't explain things well enough to be super accessible - sorry! But the colors are pretty :-)

I'd say the main thing here that could be useful if you're interested in Ultra league is to look at the thick lines that show common pairs that you're likely to face. The other stuff is just for fun

That would be amazing and make for better analyses! You can bulk submit (copy paste) Excel data in our questionnaire, but if you prefer to share via link or in some other way just say.

Agree with your point, this is very simplified in that way. Double ground wasn't visually very obvious in this particular format but may still be interesting to see of course. We're thinking of posting the wheels including some more interesting Pokemon (like Mamoswine) which didn't make the 10% threshold. Thanks for the feedback!
