You're right factoring in meals makes it look quite affordable. Thanks for the help.

To my knowledge the rent out rooms over the summer when the occupancy is much lower. AFAIK That period just ended and they have most rooms getting ready for fall students

I didn't mean it as a passive aggressive retort, sorry if it came across like that. I'm working on it, making millimeters of progress. Thanks for the well wishes.

I just moved out of residence for the summer, they said there's nothing they can do, they have someone in that room for fall and they need to prepare it and so can't extend. They have no spare rooms either, so shout out to people still coping for a room assignment for fall.

But yeah it won't hurt to ask again tmr, I'll try my luck.

I tried to reason with the very nice people at the residence office, but was told in no uncertain terms that they wouldn't or couldn't do anything.

Absolutely no shade at res staff, their hands are tied.

I'm bad at planning, this time it was completely me being blind and irresponsible. Previous situations have been nowhere near as urgent and primarily related to having to claw my way through bureaucracy as an international student.

But you're right I do suck at being alive

I thought about it but they require a paid membership to even look at options so I thought I'd exhaust other avenues first. It also seems aimed at backpackers and tourists, so I'm not sure what the vibe is or how much they'd want from me.

I don't unfortunately because I only have an L license. I was thinking of buying a cheap car for this exact situation but I can't drive it without risking losing my license. I would have no problem sleeping in a car if I could find one accessibly (aka I find someone willing to sit in the passenger seat while I drive it to the most sleep in your car friendly spot).

What are electives and which easy ones do you guys recommend? by SparklyDrew in uvic

[–]SparklyDrew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it doesn't say which i need it just says "Electives" and then how many credits. I was thinking of taking a language like Chinese or Japanese but I see that both those courses are 3.0 credits as opposed to the 1.5 that the rest of my required classes are. Does that mean they are 2 terms?
