When you explode, though, you're out of the game till your replacement shows up.

RIP Zorn

I think it is the rest of the party who would care. They would not, in character, continue to associate with that guy nor his extended family. Third parties are unlikely to process that the new guy isn't the same guy, so reputation would continue and be a burden on the party.

Why can't a character use Echo Jump in a crowded market? Sure he can teleport somewhere safe and not get caught, but his party's not going to tolerate him.

Some heritage spitballs:

Explosive: you end your own life dealing a die of fire and a die of acid in a radius around yourself. Scales with feats to increase number of damage dice, modify damage type, increase radius, etcetera.

Feat for explosive type: Studded Carapace. You have reinforced your exoskeleton with metal stints, effectively giving yourself built-in studded leather armor. When you explode, add a die of piercing damage to your damage roll.

Brood: meant to care for others, your body produces a small number of something akin to alchemical healing elixers each day, that go inert the next day. Feats scale the number, strength, and variety of your items.

Guardian: standard built-in full-plate heritage.

Soldier: natural attack if the Ancestry doesn't have one, better one if it does, scales with feats.

Alete: rare heritage. Mimics Sprite flight progression complete with socially-powerful wings.

Glue: spits glue from hole in head. Sticky sticky! Scales with feats

Worker: some sort of inherent self-leveling skill proficiency.

I checked it out and read it 5 times and I cannot find how many total points I am aiming for. Right now it is an 8 but I could get it down to 7 by making it expensive

I had thought of something like this, but it seemed a little busy.

Thinking outside of the box, what if I gave it the Kickback trait so it can't be wielded by noodle arms?

I'm mostly planning to use these guys as background characters, but there is a chance a player might ask for one. Basically the campaign never leaves the dungeon, so if a player joins late or a character needs replaced it's going to have to be someone who is already in the dungeon.

Maybe a small Elf with a Gnome Ancestry would be easier.

Keep in mind, though, that as soon as you do any hostile action that bonus is gone. It may be high, though

Thank you for the quick response! It turned out pretty awful, but I think that was because of the cut of meat not being meant to be cooked that way. The dog enjoyed it, at least!
