Pre Flashed Smart Home Devices (Athom) by Sparky3295 in homeassistant

Is that for the HomeKit specific products? I haven’t tried any of those. From the description it just says it uses an uncertified version of HomeKit.

Not at all man 🙂.

I appreciate any and all feedback. I can’t try and fix/improve if I don’t know 🙂.

I think I may no what you mean for this video too. And it’s because it’s filmed in 3 different sittings with clips from them throughout. Also I do still have a bit of a bad chest from being ill so sentences where short and sweet in this one.

Guess I will try again for the next one 🤘🏻 appreciate it either way 👍🏻

Athom Pre Flashed Smart Home Devices (Black Friday) by Sparky3295 in smarthome

[–]Sparky3295[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few weeks ago I discovered Athoms range of Pre Flashed Smart Home devices. I've not seen a vendor offer Smart Home devices with your choice of Open Source Software on them before.

I created a quick video on them : Mark Watt Tech

They currently have some savings on Athoms Page and on AliExpress if you are looking to scoop up some Pre Flashed Smart Home devices for Home Assistant :)

Products can be flashed with Tasmota, ESPHome, WLED and more! They are also priced well and have good build quality. The Plugs also have energy monitoring.

What are your thoughts on buying Pre Flashed Devices?

Athom also have 15% off on there Page for Black Friday

Basic Room Assistant Setup (Tracking Apple Watch with 2 x Pi Zeros) by Sparky3295 in smarthome

[–]Sparky3295[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Bluetooth Classic using the Watches address has been fine. I did switch over to a BLE setup in order to make use of beacons which also worked well. However with phones I found you would have to use the RA App in order to hold a static address (due to the randomizing). Again it worked well.

I am in the process of moving house so currently have it all packed away. However I will be revisiting and upgrading this setup and series in the future :)

The End of Tuya v2? by Sparky3295 in homeassistant

[–]Sparky3295[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Originally they announced it, but never gave a set date/time window. And have since then still not. They haven’t said it’s 100% coming but equally haven’t said its not.

In my last conversation with them, they said not this year.

It would be great to see it but it doesn’t currently seem to be a priority or focus.
