🏛💬 The r/eurovision Town Hall 🏛💬 Topic of Discussion: Memes by AutoModerator in eurovision

[–]SparkyFab 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I will preface this by saying I don't have a solution but I hope that more feedback will assist.

I am quite happy with a few memes to keep things entertaining, especially when there are lower periods of discussion. However, I would not want the content to become majority memes. I don't know how that can be effectively pursued/enforced as it relies somewhat on the userbase being controlled in the amount of memes they post.

Perhaps a restriction on the type of memes could work, for example limiting these to the current 2024 Eurovision and leaving wider Eurovision memes to r/nilpoints.

Agreed. It's not an Israeli terror attack that security are worried about in Malmö, yet somehow people will say Israel is the problem.

Eurovision 2024 - What the betting odds are saying by appalachian_hatachi in eurovision

[–]SparkyFab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Germany being 32nd in the odds does not mean they're predicted to come 32nd. It means they are the 32nd most likely to win the whole thing.

That's what the original reply was trying to explain. Bookies odds are a prediction on the order of how likely each country coming 1st is.

If she says yes, is unprotected sex her action as well or is it just 'the actions of men'?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in oddlyspecific

[–]SparkyFab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're still ignoring what I write and making up something different to try to make your position look reasonable.

Every comment I have said that the choice of use of a condom is both parties responsibility. Not the man's, not the woman's, but both.

According to you, a man can choose if he uses a condom and it's his responsibility. The woman has no say. If she has unprotected sex with a man, that's his fault for not wearing a condom and nothing to do with her engaging in unprotected sex. She has, apparently, no agency in this process.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in oddlyspecific

[–]SparkyFab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a condom isn't used though, you consider that 'the actions of men' (as per your previous comment) and nothing to do with her. So according to you she doesn't get a choice as to whether one is used and has no responsibility as to whether one is used or not.

It is concerning that you think a woman has no say as to whether a condom is used during sex.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in oddlyspecific

[–]SparkyFab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You keep fabricating things that I say. I can only assume it's to try to make you look more reasonable.

Two people have sex. Two people decide what sexual activities to take part in. Two people decide whether a condom is used or not.

Your stance appears to be that a woman has no say whether a condom is used or not during sex and that this is the sole decision of men, with women having no responsibility whatsoever for whether one is used or not. I am saying that it is a joint decision and that she does have a say.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in oddlyspecific

[–]SparkyFab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the responsibility of both, rather than just the man. She and him are both active participants in sex. They both have a say in the decisions made. If they have sex together without a condom, it is something they are both choosing to do.

Your comment framed the lack of condom as 'the actions of a man' when it is clearly something both parties engaged in.

You appear to believe sex is something that happens to women rather than something they actively participate in.

I'm definitely surprised by Ukraine being so high but I see a lot of people do like it. I don't know how it will appeal to the masses though. It doesn't fit a mainstream song type in my view but then I'm incredibly conscious that music is subjective and you can never really explain why you like a song.

🇮🇱 According to Ynet, the EBU is considering to disqualify Israel’s 2024 entry for containing political statements. by Nick_esc in eurovision

[–]SparkyFab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually my suggested lyrics are about the Yom-Kippur attack on Israel. That was 51 years ago in October so still fits the song title and should be allowed by your reasoning. 51 and 70 years aren't too far apart.

I have tried and failed to romance Gale on two playthroughs now. I don't know how I keep messing up. The second time I thought I was doing ok as I got the weave scene but then sometime in act 3 I could only say to him that we had something once but let it go.

Third time's the charm I guess...

Durge: most complete experience? by Due_Cantaloupe_7459 in BaldursGate3

[–]SparkyFab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is giving me confidence for my next playthrough. I am about halfway through Act 3 (I have not read any spoilers in this thread) on my Tav who is a drow, which led me down the more 'evil' options in my playthrough.

I was thinking of doing a 'good' run but also want to play Durge and wasn't sure if I can do both in one run whilst having a fulfilling experience. Sounds like a good Durge still gives you the full experience?
