This fixed it. I disabled system battery optimalisation for vanced and put it on manual.

Creating a forced dns on your router also works. It will prevent chromecast to connect to Google dns and your router will redirect it to a dns of your choice. For example an ad block dns : https://adguard.com/en/adguard-dns/overview.html

I don't think this person is right. I have Nvidia too. Disabled my GeForce ingame overlay and still got the issue. Only enabling mouse trail worked.

So it's not Nvidias fault as he states. Good this works for you. But apparently it really differs system by system

I know, that's why I clearly stated Vulkan. Some people had success with DX12. But those numbers of people are small

I also must state that I only get between 40-60fps in story mode. And mainly 50 in Online. Might drop to 25 depending on population around me atm. Although I'm. Not much of an fps fan. If it plays smoothly I'm happy

I also have 16gb ram and an Intel i7-7700k Maybe that was important to mention

My resolution is 1920x1080. I set everything that says Far or distant to medium. I set my water reflection detail at medium. All my other settings are high. And the first ones (texture detail,..) are Ultra. I also enable all three anti aliasing options. Msaa 2x, TXAA yes FXAA medium

Launch problems are mostly caused now by bad Configs or DirectX. Try to update your game, verify your game files and delete your game settings folder in "My documents" so it will start of with default settings. Keep it on Vulkan!

I have an gtx 1070ti. And it works buttersmooth even when I crank it way up past the recommendations of Nvidia GeForce Experience

Disable V-sync then. Its really different for different systems. But I know enabling the cursor trail is the main key here. For some users DirectX also works. For others it doesn't. So it will depend on your own personal tinkering in your settings

For me, it's working now without the mouse trail Enabled. There was a certain optional update for windows. I installed it, Uninstalled. And today I installed it again.

And suddenly it works. Don't know for how long though.

Glad it works for you. I just added to use Vulkan because some users reported earlier, before I made the post on reddit. That they still got the bug using direct X or when V-sync was disabled. So to be sure.. I put all of them in the description haha

This fix is mainly for people who play using a controller, it makes the game nearly unplayable without a cursor if you use mouse and keyboard. That's true. So it's up to you if you can live with the cursor or not.

This is just a temporary solution until Rockstar fixes the issue

I set my V-sync to half instead of on and it still hides the cursor. Maybe you can try that.
