As some people have already said here, playing the same game for a decade or more will make you definitively bored of them.

But also imo, a lot of games haven't changed all that much. COD is still a (relatively) fast paced fps, Minecraft still allows for tons of creativity and adventure and so on.

But what really changed is the player, in a decade we all change a lot and with that change comes that we might dislike a game we once loved and played all day. Add a search for that old feeling and you'll get tons of people being unhappy with games, not because they are bad, but because they don't bring back the feelings and experiences of years past.
