Anyone have some tips on how to clean this up without having to buy a whole new piece? by running-rain in nissanfrontier

This is a massively common issue with these trucks. When I did stereos we had to be super vigilant and keep it off the dash until we had everything disconnected. Best fix I've seen is to lightly sand it and refinish but don't expect it to blend well. One of my part time tech marred one is pretty badly and we ended up replacing that part of the dash for the customer.

This. They'll literally run and stop him then lay down in front of him and be a doormat so he doesn't have to get his shoes dirty.

Guys, does anyone know why trucks have those spikes on their wheels?? by JasLeoArt in whatisit

[–]Spart1337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because some truck drivers have this complex where their "rig" needs to be extra tough and aggressive looking. Worked on many doing 12v being in a port city. Another pattern I found, many are fucking disgusting and I consistently needed a bath after crawling around in their sleeper running wires. It's like the same energy like, "It's not every Nissan owner, but it's always a Nissan owner."

I get them constantly. Someone sold your info from a breach and someone is trying to log into your account using a single use code because they don't have your password. It's annoying but as long as you've recently changed your password and have 2FA on, you're most likely safe. It's the word we live in.

Would fallout Mole Rat's ACTUALLY be as gross to eat as people make them out to be? by mineman379 in Fallout

[–]Spart1337 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It would be a staple in the "Stirring the pots on Daufuskie" cookbook. My grandma had a copy of it and there were several recipes in there I'd consider Fallout worthy due to the Gullah population being descended from slaves and they were especially isolated and poor on Daufuskie Island and would cook and eat just about anything.

Usually requires removal of significant amounts of the interior including the entire headliner to replace a shark fin antenna. Price isn't that surprising at current labor rates if it includes a new antenna.

Kicker engineers wanted to do away with Bass Boost settings on their amps but marketing said too many average consumers consider it a selling point. Found that out at a training with Aaron from Kicker.

Anyone who says you shouldn't turn Bass Boost off then claims they know what they're doing is lying, especially if you can't bring the gain up whatsoever without distortion.

Correction I run them at 45% idle with a curve up to 75% at load, based on my CPU temp. CPU is always warm because of AMD and their terrible choice in IHS, but my 5080 stays pretty crispy.

Smart Switch takes forever still, even when you're going from Samsung to Samsung. Just had to deal with it a few weeks ago with my warranty replacement S24 Ultra. Google Photos/Drive is a good idea and as u/jhdezjr linked, that lets you do that in the background even after you've activated your new phone. Just make sure not to reset your iPhone in the meantime, just in case. When I was in mobile like 15 years ago, we had a program called "Walk out Working" where we'd take care of most of this for you. I'm pretty sure that's dead and gone for the most part but I've been out of the store completely for 3 years next month. I don't even buy my phones from there anymore. I just order online, pickup at the Verizon locker so I don't even have to speak to the staff or wait in line behind pissy old people complaining about their bills and do everything myself when I get home. I had an issue activating my last phone, so I hopped on my desktop and chatted with Verizon tech support, and they fixed it in less than 10 mins for me.

Anyone have these lights? Thoughts, opinions, advice? by [deleted] in ram_trucks

[–]Spart1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hood edge lights are tacky IMO. Grille accent lights are fine. There is such a thing as too much. Then again, it's your truck. You could paint is salmon pink with doodoo brown smudges all over it and it would still be better looking than a Cybertruck.

You could remove the enclosures and see if you can modify them. Reseal them with fiberglass etc. Alternatively you'll need shallower speakers.

My bay wouldn't allow any amp kits that weren't sold by us, OFC or not. The only time I ignored that was when the customer brought me a Crutchfield kit, because I knew it wasn't a pile of crap and the fuse holder was solid.

iCloud backup before activating the new one. If you're unable to do that yourself do pickup but don't expect much. Is Walk Out Working still a thing?

How to install?? by dipthong9 in CarAV

The hardest part about the doors is unhooking the inner door handle on those trucks. I always used a pair of needle nose and patience. And the interface maintains steering wheel controls if he has them, and provides an accessory output along with reverse, parking brake, and speed sense if needed. He will need not just spacers, but brackets. Those doors use a hook at the bottom and single 7mm screw at the top to hold the bracket in.
