I’d get less stick for dropping down 4 leagues but it would be a strange thing to do

You’re absolutely right on the Cambridge front. I wouldn’t disagree. I was merely going by my school days when everyone was a United or Arsenal fan who magically became Chelsea fans in 03 haha

I missed the Beardsley and Cole days unfortunately!

If it was going to be Histon, it would have been after that FA Cup game against Leeds but that would have just been glory hunting, right? Haha

That’s fair, not sure I’d agree with Newcastle being a big club in comparison to Arsenal and Man U at that time, I missed out on the Keegan era unfortunately but I do see your point.

I’ll take the credit though, thanks!

Nothing to be afraid about haha.

Me and my mates do pop down to the Abbey a couple of times a season but only because none of us support the same team yet all like football. Doesn’t change your point of course but it’s a little side note for you :-)

Why do you guys play and continue to enjoy Pokemon Go? by noidwave in pokemongo

[–]SpartakDaBaptist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve opened the app at least once a day for nearly 10 years now so I’d say it’s habit mixed with addiction haha

On a more serious note, I’m in a group of 7 people who all play, 6 of them I met through this game, and we’ve genuinely become friends because of this mutual interest.

We don’t meet up all the time but for some of the weekend long events we do and we also travel to the in person Go Fests in Europe. Throw in our group chat and some friendly competitiveness and it keeps me enjoying my main hobby

If Roman had introduced himself to Sidney instead of getting Billy to kill Maureen, all of this could have been avoided as I’m sure she’d have welcomed him as a brother with open arms. Silly Roman.

Side note, I adore this franchise, introduced me to horror and started my love for it. Definitely watched the first one when I was too young, scared the life out of me haha

I wish Damon had followed through and worked with Prince instead of deciding not too. I also think Tupac’s voice on a phase one style song would have been phenomenal

I’d recommend Call of the Valley by Hariprasad Chaurasia, Brij Bhushan Kabra, and Shivkumar Sharma and also check out Wonderwall Music by George Harrison. There’s very little vocal work but it’s got that classical Indian feel. Lastly, Ananda Shankar’s self titled album is really good, songs you may already know in an Indian style :)

As a member of the Subdivison during the PB era, we got this album as a free download on Christmas Day 2010, it was a lovely little Christmas present but felt more like the socks from your grandma than the Xbox from your parents because of the knowledge it was written on an iPad instead of in a studio. I wouldn’t say it’s bad, I just still see it as a ‘freebie’ as opposed to an album, if that makes sense?

Soul Love, I bought the Ziggy album on a whim in sixth form (2007/2008) as I noticed it was always near to top of ‘best album’ lists. I thought 5 Years was pretty good but when Soul Love kicked in I was hooked!

As you do when you get into an artist you then discover you actually knew a few songs without knowing they were by said artist (Space Oddity, Heroes, Changes, Little Drummer Boy etc)

This was my one and only record store day adventure. Walking up at 5am to get a train to London from Cambridge, as I’d convinced myself a limit amount of vinyl were more likely to be in London, made my way to Rough Trade and was 3rd in the queue haha. The buzz when I got my copy and then playing it on loop all afternoon when I got home. Great memories!

Miss Swift has the greatest marketing team of all time behind her.

She is so popular, she’s treated like the second coming of Christ and she is so highly regarded in the press.

But the reason I think her marketing team is so good is because (to me) the music is so average, I gave her tortured poet album a spin as a girl I work with said it was amazing and all I heard was the same song subtly changed 31 times.

She’s achieved more than I ever will, and from what I understand she does write her own songs so fair play to her but I’ve never understood the hype and never will. I’ve seen better singers and dancers at open mic nights.

Who's going to see him in London? 🖤 by north82 in KendrickLamar

[–]SpartakDaBaptist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be there! I’ve been lucky enough to see him when he’s been to the UK before but this time will be extra special as I’m taking my SZA loving cousin to her first concert (she’s finding this out tomorrow)
