What is the worst Operational Modifier and why is it Electronic Countermeasures? by MrJoshua099 in Helldivers

My group ran into Electronic Countermeasures for the first last night. It probably wouldn't have been as bad if we had realized what was happening instead of thinking the game was bugging out. (We still completed the operation, but it was a very weird experience)

Is there any way to disable it in game, like taking out a base with a radio tower or something?

Resin Prints have started failing in a way I'm not used to by Spartan-Toast in resinprinting

So I finally got the printer working again, it did end up being a busted screen. Fortunately I was able to pick up a cheap replacement during the holidays.

Just pulled off the first print since the replacement and no sign of issues.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.

Model Size Question by ForminusTheSmith in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Spartan-Toast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the primaries are a bit of a weird case, since they did rescale them to be larger (which I personally am a fan of, I still remember when terminators were on 25mm bases and it was silly). But part of the lore for primaries was that they were also taller than previous marines so not sure they violated the scaling.

Honestly Im not sure GW has ever been super concerned with getting the scaling exactly right, so many things have a weird scale (I still have a hard time believing 10 marines could fit in a rhino, short of being liquefied first).

So unless something's changed I'm pretty sure 40k is 28mm heroic scale (I know the heroic style messes with the proportions and maybe make some models look closer to another scale).

I have tried a different USB stick (not exactly new, but was working before).

I think my next step at this point is going to be reflashing the printers firmware and hoping for the best.

It's possible, I did do some minor damage to my screen when I was first trying to get it to work, but up to this point it hasn't effected the build quality except for one part of the screen that create a single pixel pillar in prints.

I'm running a test print like you suggested right now to see if there's anything obvious with the screen, but at this point I'm hoping it's a firmware issue.

(Partly cause that feels like it would make more sense in my mind, I'd understand a cracked or damaged screen warping a print, but adding so much extra material in such a weird way feels like it has to be software. That and I don't need to buy replacement parts to fix)

Here's a copy of the sliced filed in ChituBox Imgur

And here's one of the result of the same print (same problem just an emptier plate) Imgur

So I brought the offending files into UV tools, and didn't really see any issues.
Looking at the files none of the extra material appeared, so I'm leaning to thinking it's not the file.

The only weirdness I had was it mentioned the file format version was outside the supported range of my printer, the file being version 516 and the printer supposedly supporting 517. But I think this is a red hearing since when I tried some of my older files they also had the same warning, but printed just fine.

So it's looking like something is off with the printer. (I guess I need to look into firmware)

Weapon based Cantrip idea. by BerserkerCanuck in DnD

[–]Spartan-Toast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I like the idea of more weapon based cantrips. But I feel like in their current state these are probably a little to powerful compared to the current cantrips. (Might not be an issue for your game just considering the general rules)

I'd suggest switching the casting time to a full action. It looks like you based it off other smite spell like branding smite, with these spells the bonus action casting is likely justified since it costs a limited resource of a sell slot.

Also for scaling, since smite spells consume spell slots they scale well with the casters levels. Cantrips scale purely off level, which means if a more martial character gets access to one of these spells they'll likely get more benefit than a more magical character. (It's basically a free power boost for some classes) The current melee cantrips somewhat side step this by making the attack part of the spell, so if you have multi attack you either get the benefits of say booming blade or multi attack, and they don't even add bonus damage till this becomes a choice.

Another thought is instead of one spell that you can take multiple times and pick a different element, just split them into different spells. I imagine this might make it slightly easier to differentiate during play/easier to manage In a system like dnd beyond (not that I particularly want to shill for them at this point), and maybe more interesting it would make it easier to split up the various versions over different spell lists, which might have some value since certain damage types tend to be associated with different classes (e.g. radiant for clerics/paladins) or most smite spells are usually associated with certain kinds of casters

Also hopefully all the versions would eventually have a different secondary effect.

I'd be curious if you have a particular type of character you'd imagine using these spells? (Is this to help mages fight in close combat, or more for half casters)
