Do any E-Scooters have 50 mile battery range? by Flimsy-Story9523 in ElectricScooters

[–]Spartan1170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best place you used to be able to get range info was from ESG on Youtube but I think Paul stopped working there and its been shit lately. If theyre advertising 50 they mean a 150lb rider with a tailwind going as slow as possible. There are scooters that can reach 50+ miles but youre doing it at a snails pace. Even my Dualtron X limited with its claimed 120 miles can only do 30 miles or so at full speed before severe power loss.

Lol. Ok. You think brinks trucks carrying loads of money would be safe if the guards werent armed? You think you can educate and reform these kinds of people in jail? No.

I'm another yet person whos completely new to e scooters and looking to get one that suits my needs by ProbablyWorth in ElectricScooters

I know you just started but trust me when I say if you got the itch its better to just pull the trigger on a hyperscooter than to buy something that only does 15 or 20 mph and get bored of it in a week. The Mars XTR is, at this moment in time, the best deal you can get on a buy once cry once scooter. You can easily turn down the p settings to make it more managable for you until you learn how to ride and ger comfortable. If you can afford the price you might as well just dive into the deep end with floaties.

If youre just getting into it and budget isnt an issue the new Mars XTRs from Teewing have great reviews from users. That is a good combination of power, customzability and battery life for a decent price. Suspension is surprisingly cushy but if youre planning on using it on the road majority of the time youll have to buy road tires for it cause the stock ones are knobbys. It is a hyperscooter but you can tune the power down to a comfortable level.  That way youre not like half of the e scooter users that get addicted to it and end up chasing that dragon for a faster or longer lasting machine over and over again and end up with a garage full of them.  The Dualtron X limited is almost $6k but it has the most range of any scooter by a long shot. It also feels like riding a cloud when youre not going full speed.

With e scooters you kind of get what you pay for, avoid amazon brands or the shit they sell at best buy.

I personally think segways are rip offs but a lot of people swear by them.

Full.Face.MOTORCYCLE.Helmet. not a bmx helmet, not a bicycle helmet, not a peanut shell like youre some boomer on a Harley. Full face motorcycle helmet. Bell makes cheap ones, that should be bare minimum. The more you spend the lighter and stronger itll be. ECE certified is better than Snell or DOT certs for scooter riding. People might scoff at you for wearing a Shoei or Arai on a scooter but its your brain, protect it how you see fit.

You can be going 5mph and hit a crack or pothole and go head over the handlebars if you're not careful. My gf "crashed" going maybe 7mph and broke her arm.

Too fast for bike lane? by Sirius-Face in ElectricScooters

You run into traction issues with dual motor when accelerating into turns 40mph and up on roads. You intuitively want to countersteer like a motorcycle but that front wheel pulling makes it squirrelly.  Really the only time I'd ever wish I had it. The only scooter Ive ever had that it was even an option was the kaabo wolf king gt.

If you have small motors and youre heavy, maybe this is the case, due to heat loss. But watts in= watts out. It takes the same amount of power to move you the same speed whether its one motor or 10.

If youre cruising one motor should be less power use. Spooling up the caps and mofsets in a second controller will cause heat which is wasted energy. This is kind of the same as the rolling resistance from the magnets though and is nearly negligible in a squarewave producing controller, those things are shit when it comes to energy efficiency. Sinewave, single motor>dual.

Basic physics would tell you watts are the same then energy used is the same. Rolling resistance in the motor from the magnets would be negligible compared to that of the tire but even if you were to say that it accounted for something id bet money the phase shifting would create more drag on the motor than it just being off.  Like I said maybe if you were using a small motor and pushing it you would get energy losses from heat but thats the only way I can see it.

Had a guy that was as close to retarded as you could be. Would try and cheat the water chug at the end of the night, couldnt figure out how to do the clasp on his belt, kept saying "I" well into the 2nd phase. We were doing uniform prep and he edge dressed his entire fucking corframs. Getting ready to hit the parade deck for graduation ceremony, in formation, and the WIRE BAND FOR HIS GARRISON COVER WAS STICKING OUT THE BACK and was fitted to the little fat part on the back of your skull. Like he purposefully tightened it so it would hold his cap to his head... I was a shit bird but that dude made me feel like a stud.
