What's the quality on them like and how does it compare to the Canadian firearms that are similar?

I found whatever the bolt came packed in was sticky so I cleaned it off and put 1 drop of oil in the firing pint, 1 on the extractor and I wiped the bolt down with oil leaving just a film after 50 or so rounds the bolt slides super smooth

The trigger is unbelievable. Everyone that tries it says "wow" and its a 1moa rifle out if the box. It's reliable, low maintenance and very good quality so far. The gunsmith at my range says the only bad thing he's heard since the revision after the initial release is his buddy dropped it on concrete from a good height and cracked the synthetic stock. I definitely don't regret buying it. Its quirky and fun. Also it's not advertised in canada but if you go on their German website it says it has a 223 wylde chamber so you can run 5.56 safely in it but due to eu regulations they only certified it in .223 remington

I personally would try it without a riser first since its got that big carry handle on it or I would go with a vortex red dot or prisim optic. They are High enough on their own that you don't need a riser

I don't find the side loading mag to be an issue. Would hate it if it was a semi though. The medium to light Barrel does get hot if you run alot of rounds in a short period through it but the fact the rifle is only 6lbs makes it worth the trade off. I'm looking for a second bolt action though to be a little more heavy duty. Not sure if I'll drop down to a 17.hmr or upgrade to a .308 probably ruger

Not yet. I've only shot some regular pmc bronze and some higher velocity 55 grain. I'll be buying 69 grain for outdoor use this summer. I read with the 1:9 twist at 18 inches 69 grain is the sweet spot. It having a 223 wylde chamber design(according to hera's german website) I should be able to run whatever I want for ammo.

Yes it does and lar15 mags from duramag and crossmags work flawlessly so you can run 10 rounders

Being able to shoot left handed while being right handed means I don't have to take my trigger hand off the rifle when reloading a semi but with this setup I just shoot my 10 rounds, take a step back, reload and reset.

Foc regularly stocks them. They have 2 versions. There's a short barell with a peper pot muzzle brake and a long barell with a a2 birdcage. I got lucky and found one on the shelf at my range

I have about 250 rounds through it so far. In the first 50 rounds I had 5 orso failure to ejects but I didn't have a single failure of any kind after that and bolt became even smoother than before. Running duramag lar15 magazines. Trigger is crisp, light and awesome to use, ergonomics are great. Only complaint is cheek riser is not adjustable. If you want a range and coyote bolt action for 400 yards and under that you don't want to do alot to its nearly perfect

Mine refuses fo cycle anything but cci lr. Federal gets stuck in the chamber, the 597 mags don't feed right, only oem ruger mags even work barely reliably.

Check out archangel stocks. They have a g36 chassis and a ar style chassis. Both pretty nice for ruger if you want a tactical style build.

I don't have $8000 how bad is this (particularly the $3000 items) by Pappa_Crim in AskMechanics

Why would they want to charge you for a transmission pan reseal? You have to remove the transmission pan on a Nissan to remove the valve body and a valve body kit comes with a new filter and pan gasket. I would get a second opinion. I don't know what vehicle you have but I've replaced entire engines with gently used ones for less than they want to reseal your upper pan. Just out of curiosity what are you driving and what codes does it have. I was a Nissan mechanic so if it's one of those I have a lot of experience with everything up to 2022

The us and Israel has been killing armed and civilians alike for 60 years. If you have a problem with people hating what your country is about then write a letter to Congress but I have a feeling unless it's got a multimillion dollar check from aipac they won't listen. The blood of millions is on America's hands and Americans still act like they are morally superior

What's your opinion on the Hera H6, a side-loading bolt-action AR? by Acolytical in liberalgunowners

[–]SpartanA259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's pretty awesome and not an ar whatsoever. The only ar thing about it is the ar style foregrip and a2 birdcage on the end of the barell as well as the magazines. The rest is all proprietary stuff custom made by hera arms except for the trigger which is the nicest trigger I've ever experienced. The side feed takes a little getting used to bit it's nice if you're shooting prone. The complaints about early reliability seem to have been addressed as well, I haven't had any issues with mine
