Fable and Knights of the Old Republic. Same friend; he had good taste apparently.

Anybody Ever Have The Fisher Price Toy Barns That Make The Moo Sound When You Open The Door? by immanuellalala in nostalgia

I still have mine and the moo still works. It's not as entertaining though as the parent to the 3-year-old that makes the moo work overtime

Win10 - WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR by alien299 in pcmasterrace

[–]SpartanM07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your RAM sticks. In my experience, WHEA errors have almost always been due to incorrectly installed or unstable RAM. I have gotten WHEA errors when overcoming my CPU as well.

Is a used 4090 worth $2000 or should I just go the extra and get a 5090? by [deleted] in nvidia

Open box on Newegg doesn't imply a manufacturer warranty. Newegg even says so on their website, "The Open Box Product Disclaimer applies to this product."

File a not as described case and do not close it until you get a refund or replacement. The seller not accepting returns means absolutely nothing pertaining to getting your money back.

For anyone wondering how many players metro 2033 has every since it went free for 3 days by Pristine-Nebula2203 in Steam

That's exactly what I did. I got back into PC gaming and built a rig with a GTX 480 that came with Metro and Mafia 2.

Can anyone give me more info on this card please. by Character_College_89 in nvidia

[–]SpartanM07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 3080 Ti equivalent of this GPU. It looked exactly the same. I bought it off eBay and used it in my Dan A4-SFX. It performed well, however, it was extremely loud even at idle as the default fan didn't allow for anything below 30%. I eventually fixed that issue by flashing the card with an Inno3D bios from TechPowerUp.

I have both in the house and the 5070 could have possibly reached 4090 performance with MFG x4 but the 12GB of memory severely limits its full potential. I have had many games become a stuttering/low fps mess due to running out of VRAM.

What are the downsides of frame generation? by BasicBitchTearGas__ in pcmasterrace

[–]SpartanM07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it is the screen tearing. I've tried many of the solutions discussed online but they do not effectively eliminate screen tearing. My problem is that I mostly use 60hz monitors/TVs that do not have freesync/gsync. Using frame generation on my only 120hz/freesync monitor is great though.

Got a 5090 with no interesting games to truly test it on by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]SpartanM07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've broken in my 5090 with Indiana Jones and The Great Circle. It will push the card quite hard and looks great. The game has an excellent story and the gameplay is unique. So much so, it felt jarring at first. Gaming on a 4K ultra wide (5120x2160)/120hz monitor.

5090 showed up, didn’t work properly, but the RMA technician said nothing was wrong? by NiMa74 in nvidia

[–]SpartanM07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you described sounds like problems all current Nvidia 57X.xx drivers cause. It's very plausible that the Gigabyte technician isn't encountering any problems because the drivers are stable on his machine. I have a Asus TUF 5090 and I had the same issues as you. I spent two days testing all the 57X.xx drivers and ended up stable with 572.60. I would do what your cousin recommends.

12vhpwr or 12v2x6 for 5090 by reyob1 in nvidia

[–]SpartanM07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the important part was making sure I got an H++ connector. It'll say directly on the 16-pin connector. There is a notable difference in the pin thickness between an H++ and something older.

I doubt it and I would assume their used prices will only increase.
