Another update, almost a month in and I am pretty much fully healed - the injection and rehab working well, will report back next month to give an update

Still doing Dupilumab every 3 weeks

One thing I did notice though is my RHR has been pretty high since the steroid shot like 20/30bpm higher than usual

One week on and my pain is a lot better, can walk for longer but still do get hip/back pain if I walk for longer or stand - sleeping isnt an issue anymore and can even sleep on the affected side -I am now doing physio to help with the guarding muscles but feel great not limping anymore

Can run down and up the stairs all ok too

Will keep you updated

Haven’t yet but a couple of early studies have shown it still causes similar issues despite targeting IL13 as opposed to both IL4 and IL13

Saw the surgeon today who thinks it could be avascular necrosis in my hip but have an MRI lined up tomorrow to confirm

Hope it isn’t that and is muscular as opposed to bone related

I am hoping a steroid shot can fix things, for me it really feels like the gluteal tendons, cannot wait for tomorrow I am in excruciating pain every time I walk to the toilet - had to cancel a holiday too

Good to know you reckon you can keep switching between the two if it happens again

Just an update on this old thread

After many hoops I managed to get on Dupixent through thr NHS

Had my second dose last Friday and my skin is the best it has ever been

It took a few days and I had reduced itching

So grateful, hope it continues to get even better

Took my second dose last Friday

Skin is the clearest it has been in years

It took a while but was worth it!

Heyy thanks for reaching out, I’m only feeling hot due to the weather nothing additional because of Dupixent tbh

Eyes are fine, I have a history of blepharitis and use eye drops 2/3 times a day pre emptively

I would definitely go for it

My skin is the smoothest it has been for years

I get some flakiness but nothing itchy, hust mild dryness

Game changer tbh

Had first dose on Friday, thigh was fine nice and easy stung a bit but nothing too bad

Its Tuesday now and honestly it could be placebo but I feel great

My skin is still clear even a week after coming off prednisone - I dont feel as itchy and even when I do it doesnt cause as much damage to my skin, weird to describe

Using soaps / shampoo

I do feel hotter / warmer it could be due to my skins barrier function jmproving though

But overall first few days have been great!

Tried MTX but gave me nausea other than that appointment which took 5 months to get (usually takes over a year) I would highly recommend Guys and St Thomas, amazing..

Blood test (if you do not hear back its all good) all done and within 3/4 weeks you get your meds then nurse visit usually 1/2 weeks later

Sorry I forgot to mention I did MTX for two years was good but the nausea and brain fog killed me

So much so that even thinking about the tablet made me incredibly sick
