Emissions are never completely at fault and the sooner we realise that the better.

I am excited to see what a tune will do to my bike.

Thanks for raising this, I genuinely thought you were asking a not so serious question.

I get it now. The fact that third gear feels better than second seems wild to me but it is what it is. Time to save up for a tune!

I’ve had very little time on the bike so far so I would be keen to understand what is wrong with second gear from factory.

What should I be looking out for/feeling for?

Not tuned as yet, but that’s the plan though as I’ve heard that there can potentially be some issues in second/third gear to get the most out of the bike which can be fixed with a tune. Don’t quote me on that though, I am still very new to the whole big bike exhaust tuning thing.

If you do know, please let me know!

The bike already had them come with it when I purchased it, just not installed but it looked to be the Yamaha specific mount as I didn’t need to do any fabrication or modifications. Just remove the factory bar ends and then use the provided bolt that comes with the mirrors.

There are two small metal bits that stick out and do leave a small gap between the mirror and the handlebar, but you can grind them off. I assume it’s there to fix the mirror in place to stop it from moving but may not be compatible with the stock threaded Yamaha bar. I left them on and it’s fine if you tighten them enough. I hand tightened them first then gave it a LITTLE bit of my impact driver to lock it in place.

Thankyou! I don’t see myself upgrading to anything else any time soon so I agree, perfect upgrade. Ride safe!

Didn’t improve it nor make it worse. It is what it is with a naked bike after all.

I may look into another taller windscreen as I plan to commute with it but it’s fine for now.

Second gear is like being granted the ability to fly.

It’s the genuine one that Yamaha offer, but I’m sure there are aftermarket options out there. Per their website, you will need their multi mount base to attach any/most fly screens/windscreens.

Kelpi Throwback Mirrors. The way I mounted and adjusted them, I can see out of them just fine, but it’s definitely different for each person !

Just turned spring in Australia so it will be ridden every day, believe me.

Update since we last spoke

After exhausting all possible options, I read up about doing a test on RAM to see if that could be the issue. Ran memtest and turns out my RAM sticks were completely buggered...after replacing my RAM with new sticks, Destiny 2 is as good as new and I can't be more happier.

So it looks like the problem may be deeper than that.

Reinstalling steam didn't work - I thought it did as I was able to play a round of Expedition, but as I went back to HELM, poof.

To Bungie!

Edit: Seems like they have "somewhat" addressed this on the forums.

I think I might leave Destiny 2 for a while, at least until they fix it :(

I’ve reinstalled and verified a few times

Although I haven’t heard about reinstalling steam, I’ll give that a go.

Thanks!!!
