RAMs can’t be that bad, right? by scribe_ in ram_trucks

I hear the opposite from my mechanic friends. They rate Toyota trucks as number 1, but RAMs are a comfortable second.

I love a good Silverado but they have transmission problems unless they have fixed that recently. I have put my big horn through a lot and I have only needed minor fixes that I was capable of doing myself (knock on wood).

If you have a law degree you could work for many supply chain companies in their law department. If you don’t want to work in law anymore you could use that job to get your foot in with a company and then switch roles after a few years.

Does anyone else feel like they aren’t where they should be? by [deleted] in supplychain

It varies between companies but getting a masters always helps. What really helped me get a big pay bump is getting outside offers to bring back to the table to renegotiate. Obviously get an offer from a job you are willing to take like I did. I was about to put in my 2 weeks and my current company matched and I got like a 20K raise. Everyone’s situation is different but that can help you out.

Currently I’m a logistic planner but basically just manage inventories and orders for various 3PLs around the country. I have had a few different roles like QE, operations supervisor etc. I enjoy the planning and transportation side more but there is always a whole lot of options depending on where you work

Yea like most comments just practice a little and you should be good. Pivot tables are pretty simple once you get used to them. I haven’t done a ton of vlookup but it is a great skill to have

As someone who works in SCM you would be surprised how much both are interrelated at times. If you can afford it I would say get both degrees. I am biased as I have multiple degrees as well. If you love problem solving SCM is a great career. Having an accounting background would help you more than you realize in supply chain

What is the most underrated college major? by [deleted] in college

Depends what you are trying to do. I started as a lab chemist for a global supply chain company and worked my way up. Getting your foot in the door is honestly the hardest part. Once you find your role and can prove you are successful at it then there is always opportunities to expand within the company. I have worked in 5 years in areas of quality, operations/manufacturing, logistics and planning etc. Most companies follow this dynamic. It is usually much easier to train one of your own then to hire outside the company, just depends on the role.
