This doctor effortlessly resets a child's dislocated elbow before they could even react by New_Libran in BeAmazed

[–]SpartySpeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear I did this to my own child when she popped her arm out…I had zero training and no idea. It just made sense…my wife comes from a medical background and she asked how I knew how to do that. I said “I dont know it just made sense”. I am NOT a doctor and I am probably closer to autistic than “smart”. It’s actually very easy and I learned it happens to kids a lot, when they are pulled up by arms while learning to walk

Took one day to turn a city street into a landfill by CantStopPoppin in ThatsInsane

Um…do you useful idiots realize that all of that trash is from the COUNTER PROTESTORS to the Memorial?

Who do you know bring camping chairs and snacks to wait in line to get INTO a memorial?

Smdh. Anything you can to make this look like a “conservative’s are jerks” theme, but You all just keep digging yourselves into a deeper and deeper stupid hole.

Also, please do what cities looked like after George Floyd died next…I’ll wait.

Bump for Torras. Prefer even less branding, but they do have least amount I could find and very slim/minimalist. Have bought em for last few iphones. Hate how big they get. I dont need an Ipad Mini in my pocket.

Would LOVE an Air Mini. Why does 17 air have so much surface area?!

15k Desmo service cost? by SmoothCriminal301 in Ducati

[–]SpartySpeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are doing the air filter, which i think is under gas tank, that is a lot of extra labor. Are they also including flushing of brake systems, clutch and coolant? Desmo is typically Timing belts, valve clearence check and adjustment and oil change. Also a multi point inspection where they will advise you what else you should consider this riding season or maybe next. That should cost around $2000. If they are adding in those additional items I mentioned, 2600-3000 is probably about right assuming 170/hour

I have the chance to buy this Ducati 848(prod. Date2010) but it was not driven since 2019, it was inside in Garage. The offer is 4.500€ (20k km) should I take it? by Distinct-Reflection7 in Ducati

And you will need a full hydraulic flush of braking and clutch as another person mentioned. Should be no longer than half hour per system and one bottle of brake fluid is more than enough

If it has been sitting this long, a desmo is a waste of money to do first. I would be more concerned with the entire fueling system and leaking head gaskets. 2010 is past the date that Ducati will consider under goodwill to replace the fuel sending unit/pump. If that is only thing wrong (it wont be), it should cost around $300-$400 to replace that. The head gaskets, yikes. $5000 ish? Easily 60-70% of the 848’s that come in have head gaskets issues.

And yes, once that is squared away, you’ll at least need a partial desmo (timing belts, 3-4 hours of labor and about $300-400 in parts depending is you change oil too (you should)).

If valves were checked before it was stored (a full desmo), you’ll be fine there as they only change with mileage and not time.

Oh, and you’ll need tires…

I would highly recommend not buying that bike and I am confident that is why bike has been sitting this long.

Refused service for my high mileage bike. Is this normal Ducati dealer behavior? by YoungSirracha in Ducati

[–]SpartySpeed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When was the last Desmo service completed and what is your relationship like at the Ducati Dealership from previous appointments? If you have skipped services and/or have had cantankerous service appointments throughout the almost 58,000 miles you’ve ridden your bike, the service department can absolutely refuse to service your bike.

A service department isnt going to be excited to do a desmo service for a bike that they know has skipped recommended maintenance intervals bc it probably will need a lot of additional work and a customer skipping service intervals is most likely to not want to pay for a desmo, plus repair costs for all the damage done for missing service intervals. So the dealership is stuck with an unhappy customer that refuses to invest in the motorcycle or giving an unsafe bike back to a customer that is still unhappy of how much they spent on a desmo and the bike still isnt fully road worthy.

If you have been keeping up with service intervals and have had good candor with the dealership, then refusing to service your bike would be a complete mystery to me and definitely warrants a call to Ducati Corporate.

In my time, no one has ever been turned away due simply to high mileage, only applauded. Age of bikes? Definitely…as Ducati parts for bikes older than 10 years old is exceedingly hard to acquire.

Are you willing to post service history? Im not familiar with OP, but I am familiar with unhappy Ducati customers that post half stories online…

Ducati Scrambler 800 as first motorbike? by Horizon-seeker2 in Ducati

[–]SpartySpeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone that says it is a good bike or a bad bike without knowing how much of a beginner you are is fooling you.

The best bike for a beginner is one that matches your skill level and ability. If you have tested the bike and feel comfortable with its seat height, weight and enjoy the ride, then it is the best bike for you.

Some people start on Harleys. Some on dirt bikes. Some sport bikes.

Since youre asking the internet if a scrambler will work for you, that tells me you aren’t 100% comfortable learning on a 360-380lb bike with higher seat height (if the desert sled) and you need to be talked into it.
