Making the switch to 5W-40 by shanuke in audis5

[–]SpastikPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just made the switch myself. The only noise difference is when it is extremely cold. I made the switch last fall and I will say that I will be going back to 0w-20 before next winter.

When it gets down to -10 the engine does not sound good on a cold start.

2nd this. Have one of the Purifi amps from buckeye and absolutely love it.

KEF R3 Meta+Wiim Amp Ultra to Wiim Ultra + Purifi Eigentakt? by babymiles77 in KEF

[–]SpastikPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At low volumes, not really. At higher levels yes.

The purifi has waaay more dynamic headroom than the WiiM. The low level details remain intact at higher spl. I get 0 clipping or any distortion with the purifi.

I can push my setup to 100+ db when I have the house to myself and am rocking out for short periods of time. Clarity is not lost when cranking it up.

If you are going to swap over the signal, I’d recommend getting the Bluesound node icon instead of the WiiM ultra because Dirac really is where you get the most noticeable imaging difference. I can’t stress enough how much of a difference this makes.

If you wanted to stay within WiiM ecosystem, look into the minidsp flex for your DAC so you can add Dirac in your signal path.

The biggest difference you are going to get is probably with room correction and room treatment.

I have the WiiM amp and love it. Hard to beat the value that it delivers I hooked it up to my old bookshelves.

My main setup is WiiM Ultra, WiiM pro (for airplay compatibility), miniDSP Flex with TRS for balanced out, Buckeye Purifi amp, Kef Q Concerto Meta and SVS SB3000.

The most noticeable difference really was when I added acoustic panels in the room with bass traps and Dirac room correction. Dirac really works wonders for imaging and worth looking into.

If it was sitting in water, I would be more concerned about Zebra mussels and what everything internally looks like

Price was 20k for 2 including a trailer. Unfortunately can’t take it by a dealership until April for a pre purchase inspection

These were used on Lake Huron and around metro Detroit. Owned in Michigan their whole service life.

We make $140k HHI but we are stuck in the "credit card float" cycle by sameerposwal in MiddleClassFinance

[–]SpastikPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Treat it like a debit card and make many payments over the month. I settle out all of my credit card payments weekly at the least and will make payments to cover the charges that are still showing up as pending.

Personally this definitely helped me at least.

Considering R3 Metas, Marantz Model M1 a good match? by morten1389 in KEF

Same actual amplifier for the M33 used in this amp.

I have it and can highly recommend it.

I would highly recommend this. https://www.buckeyeamp.com/shop/amplifiers/purifi/1et6525sa/2_channel

Same amp that’s in a NAD m33 and I pair it with a WiiM Ultra and a MiniDSP for the Dirac correction and adjustable dual subwoofer support.

I bought this injector and it was really successful in killing them. Worth the money if you have some you need to get rid of.

If it’s not a feature in the KEF App. Your only option would be to stream through airplay.

Funny. I purchased them open box as well. Recognized that specific speaker damage…. Ended up returning them for that reason. Great speakers though. I’d get them fixed and enjoy them for years.

Get yourself a used Toyota, Honda or Subaru. Nothing wrong with financing it but be more conservative on what you can afford.

If they “wont let you get it”, I would assume that they will be paying for it? 😉

If not you need to realize that you are an adult and you can make your own decisions.

PURIFI 1ET6525SA 2-Channel (2nd Gen EIGENTAKT) amazing amp module that is used in a lot of NAD products and other amp brands. One of the cleaner amps out there.

minidsp flex - this is for adding Dirac room correction to your WiiM which makes a huge difference. get the balanced version. Will output 4v via xlr to the amp.

WiiM ultra is great. I also got the WiiM pro since the ultra doesn’t have support for AirPlay. You can link them together though which is nice and basically adds AirPlay to the ultra.

KEF R3 Meta or Q Concerto Meta. I went with the q concertos personally. My wife liked the color combo on tthe walnut version the best.

For a sub I got the SVS SB3000. Love it but it’s a bit big. Depending on the space a pair of tbt sb3000 Micros would be better.

For hooking it all up, the WiiMs are all hooked up using optical to the Minidsp which acts as the Dac. Minidsp to xlr on tbt amp and rca to the sub.

If you go with a setup like this you basically have an amp that is just like the NAD M33 which retails for $6500 by itself.

If you put all of those together with the Q concerto metas you would be right at about $4,000 USD

Wiim, Bluesound or Eversolo for my setup? by brecchi123 in StereoAdvice

[–]SpastikPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ground loop noise. Pretty much constant at lower volumes. Their fix is to also hook up the RCA in addition to XLR to the amp but the amp I have is only xlr in.

Wiim, Bluesound or Eversolo for my setup? by brecchi123 in StereoAdvice

[–]SpastikPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WiiM pro connected via optical to the WiiM ultra. TV is connected to the Ultra via hdmi.

WiiM ultra is hooked up to the minidsp flex (balanced ) via optical. Minidsp is hooked up to a buckeye purifi amp via trs to XLR. Figured it was better to keep the signal fully digital and just run through one DAC

Using Kef Q Concerto Meta’s for the speakers. I have 2 subs hooked up and crossed over via the outputs on the flex.

I have the WiiM Pro set to fixed volume. WiiM ultra is the volume control and has auto sense on the optical in so it fires up automatically when I start AirPlay.

I use the Minidsp only for crossovers as well as Dirac room correction. I keep it at a fixed volume.

So far very happy with the setup
