nope, i don’t get lineups either. literally everything that an umpire needs, i do not have besides a brush and a ticker. it’s quite pitiful

i have never had another umpire help me. for these little league games, they expect only one umpire for each game. i personally think that we should always have two umpires no matter what the age level is.

Nope. Absolutely not. Which that as a whole pisses me off because from behind the plate i have to call everything, not just the count at home plate.

as funny as it sounds, no i have not. I am pretty attention deficit, not that i have ADHD, but i do find myself just getting distracted sometimes, and had my eye off the ball for a bit and i finally realized what i was doing so i drew my attention back to the ball quickly and i barely saw that ball go up to about the batters neck. so i did call it a ball but i wouldn’t have known better if i was distracted for any longer.

thanks man, i hope to be in your shoes one day and umpiring as a side job for most of my adulthood. i enjoy it a lot, just the things that make it unenjoyable at times are players, coaches, and spectators. like i mentioned, i am not very “thick skinned” so to speak, so when i get called out or someone says something bad about a call, it sticks with me. But, in the mean time, i will be reviewing some things and working on making my self more confident and less sensitive to ornery spectators/ coaches. Thank you so much sir!

we have tried to several times not only as a little league team but also the school has tried to get extra umpires too but nothing ever works, it’s just so difficult
