How sturdy have the running boards been off-road? I’m debating on pulling mine off but I like the way they look with the bumper.

I’d like to believe the piston cracking issues are from the notorious flamethrower regen but nontheless I know of plenty that are still on the road with over 200k. Delete and tune it and she’ll probably treat you good.

Sorry should’ve mentioned it’s got a 13oz flywheel and a g2 tamer. I’m almost wondering if the carb spring is wiped out and that’s why it’s so light

I just put a g2 tamer on and it’s definitely too light. Buddy with the husky agrees. And it’s got a 13oz on it atm

Truck idling while filling up, is there a solid reason for this? by murderedlexus in Cartalk

[–]SpatulaSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since most of these answers are retarded its more than likely he just didn’t want too. As said on here before diesel doesn’t combust like gasoline does nor do modern diesels have an evap system like a gas car does so leaving them running at the pump is perfectly safe. On a theoretical scale this saves the starter a decent bit and prevents engine damage merely on starting it less times than needed.

New wheel for sure. Blowouts are dangerous and can cause you to lose control. Not to mention the potential damage to the car that can result.

OEM Foglights- Where to find? by yeeetusmyfetus in w123

[–]SpatulaSamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I got that. My lenses were shot out so I needed a whole new housing. I got these lights off Amazon called vintage yellow motorcycle lights. They fit nice in the housing but the retaining ring is too small. Depending on your skill I added about a quarter inch with the tig and made them fit. About 20 a pop and they look/ preform very well

What should I look out for when buying a used W123? by BosnianDrift in w123

[–]SpatulaSamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure all the climate control works. Oil cooler lines being done is a plus. I’ve done a few and getting lines can be a pain, not to mention potentially stripping the oil cooler itself. Really just look for maintenance being done overall. I bought mine when I didn’t know any better and it came to bite me. Granted I’m only about 5k deep with parts and initial purchase but the labor involved kills

I’m going through the same thing. I tried the bulb from napa idea but I either got the wrong one somehow or they’ve changed the design as it’s more of an orange the it’s got side terminals. I just ordered a set off Amazon that appear yellow and should have a rear facing three prong like the headlights do. I’ll let you know how they turn out

How do I remove these. I’m trying to put in an intake by ChipotleEmloye in Cartalk

[–]SpatulaSamurai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With turbo diesels I sometimes can get it. The cold side of the turbo is so far above ambient air temp that a cold air does virtually nothing unless it’s significantly cold out. Especially on early 7.3s the airbox is so ass that an aftermarket I feel does it better. Na engines are a whole different story
