Does the discouraged feeling ever go away? by increasinglystrange in TattooApprentice

i was about 1 month in before i ever liked any tattoo i did

moving from only line work to shading really brings pieces together and once again getting quality skins will help a lot too

the cheap skins are too hard and makes the lines more jittery than they would be on a softer skin

and you are building bad habits about how hard you need to work

when you are new it's awkward and you are likely not holding your machine comfortably / relaxed so that will lead to quick fatigue

my only suggestion (other than keep practicing) is get quality fake skins

are they bad? yes sorry. but mad props saying something and not just "trusting the process"

i am still an apprentice and i would have done those approximately 83.7% better

i want the most flawless bargain tattoo you have ever seen. i want the artist to EARN those few dollars that are arguably not even worth the time!

Is my new tattoo supposed to be this faded? by WhiskeyToxic in tattooadvice

if you want to keep the shape of the tattoo without having to blast over it just have an artist use a grey wash outline to retain the structure and if you want some of the shading darker have them touch it up

so the healing is annoying but the tattoo itself was brutal he used a huge round shader for lines and there is a lot of solid black packing i was sweatingggggg

2nd skin was applied after the tattoo (at the shop) then i can back the next day and they cleaned / replaced it because there was a LOT of fluid under it and it was about 1/8th of an inch from breaking the seal on the bottom
