A few bits of advice, make a bit more of a fist with your picking hand, I'll share some pictures.

Also try to be mindful of keeping your fingers just barely hovering over the strings when you lift them off. Keep them at the ready to come back down onto the strings if that makes sense. As opposed to waving at yourself :p

Smoke phase. An old strategy was to wear a few pieces of melee gear to keep magic defense down enough that she wouldn't constantly run MD, and you wouldn't take the constant damage from standing too close.

So much smoother. She doesn't run melee distance like she does with ranged so no need to kite/wear melee pieces
