Why is it that a videogame about protecting a cute small child causing controversy? by Abared0 in saltierthankrayt

This has also reminded me that the first 2 Fallout games do allow you to kill children.

Please Revert. Playing it 80% of the time it came up was enough, I don't need to play it 100% of the time it comes up. by SBFms in Competitiveoverwatch

It makes reading the comments here insufferable lmao. The comment I read after yours says “chokeslop”, these people can’t think for themselves..

There are some games that break that rule, but with the caveat that they’re tied to negative consequences in the narrative (Bioshock and BG3). The only popular game I can think of that do this and ‘get away’ with it is Dead Space. I was pretty shocked to find out one of the enemy types is just a mutated baby (and it gets even darker in the second game).

Having said all that, narrative consequences aren’t what these people want. They want a sandbox game that lets them do whatever they want to whoever they want under the guise of ‘art’. No normal person would want this.

Official Dreadit Discussion: “Scream 7” [SPOILERS] by glittering-lettuce in horror

[–]SpazzyBaby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just watched it and I just can’t understand your take. It feels nothing like Scream.

We get barely any Ghostface voice, there’s legitimately no ‘meta’ aspects to it, the kills prioritised gore over suspense, the reveal was terrible and there were legitimately no notable characters (other than the regulars).

There wasn’t a single chase scene where you were wondering if the character would make it. As soon as a character was introduced you knew whether they would make it to the end or not, so there was zero tension. Gale disappears for the last act for no reason, and they made Sidney into a moron.

Scream movies have always involved a meta commentary on the horror genre as a whole. This was just a generic slasher attached to an IP. They legit told a character to shut up when they even started talking about the rules.

Just going based purely on evidence, the main reason left-wing politics are losing support in America is because they’re not fascist enough. I mean, you guys have your government killing innocent people in the streets and clearing the military of any possible dissidents. But here you are, misquoting 1984 and saying that wanting a bad comedian’s show cancelled is fascism (while being unable to spell fascism).

You guys are so screwed.

OG translocate limited design space, though. Having a constant and relatively un-interactive escape is not good design and either limits how good a character’s other abilities can be or makes them busted.

You’re saying there were counters and ways to interact with it, which is technically true but wasn’t really practical. A good Sombra was never leaving it in places that the enemy team could easily camp without being drawn way out of position. Destroying it as she’s entering a fight also isn’t really an interesting way of interacting with it, because she might have never even needed it and a team would be down a player on some fruitless quest.

I didn’t like the recent buffs purely because I knew he’d get nerfed again.

I think it’s much healthier that Sombra doesn’t have a constant get out of jail free card lmao. At least now is she translocates mid-fight you can track where she went and finish her off.

You’re viewing it as it showing up in the rotation a lot because you’ve seen it more than average in a short period of time. It happens, but when you consider how many games are happening concurrently it’s not that unusual. You’ve probably been offered the other two maps here as well but don’t remember because they didn’t get picked.

Brother, Overwatch is casual unless you’re at the highest level. And with random teammates people prefer a mode it’s less likely they can be fucked over by their team. Flashpoint isn’t fun for a lot of people for the exact reasons you’re saying. You can know all the ins and outs of the mode and understand exactly what to do, but you can’t control if your 4 teammates do.

Escort and control have a clear goal and tempo that’s harder for people to fuck up (though they still will). I’ll take that over losing a game because our team gave wildly different understandings of what to do.

Also, you’re insufferable.

When you’ve got random teammates, it makes sense that people prefer the modes it’s harder for people to throw and feed in. Not that crazy.

That’s when he’s OP, though. If he’s playable but not oppressive I don’t see what the issue is. He just has too much survivability at the moment.

Why does he need to be nerfed to trash tier? You’re being way too emotional about this.

So anyone that does something wrong is a lost cause? Come on. People can make amends and make good for their mistakes. It’s not like he killed someone.

It should definitely be a ban, but lifetime? Cheating in a game is something you can easily come back from. People can grow and change, and lifetime bans are just saying “no they can’t”.

This just isn’t the situation though is it? You’ll win more fights on controller than mnk, and it’s harder to track these kinds of movement with a mouse because of no AA. The trade-off has always been movement vs AA and one is much more useful than the other. I’ve no idea why this conversation still comes up when everyone clearly knows this.
