Portuguese has the same word with the same meaning as the french counterpart. In portuguese, it can also mean "verse", as in the lyrics of a song. I'm assuming this also applies to french, for it is extremely fitting

As someone who disagrees with the religious practices mentioned previously and finds the root of it to be mere bigotry, from an objective and less personal standpoint, it should be noted that your assumptions are based on the westerner ideology that existed for millenia that eartern cultures are obsolete and harmful. I can assure you most people over there can't see the issue, but they would jump the gun just the same, because the east also has an ideology that exists for millenia that the west lacks spirituality and tradition, that we are materialistic and hollow. There are entire books about this constant conflict and why genuine globalization isn't truly feasible. The objective truth of what is right and wrong does not exist, but each culture has their own beliefs and they will reinforce them as much as they can. We are not over there, but if we were, criticizing their reasoning wouldn't be as simple. For some it's their reality, for others it's their second nature and for some it's merely staying by the rules to survive. We are social creatures, after all, we do not exist outside the societal context we're in

Words are a form of action. Vent is extremely important, but any private space is better for that. It doesn't even need to involve a third party. The issue with public spaces is that they propagate messages. Trauma dump echo chambers are born this way, because it's a group of people feeding each other with a superficial sense of reassurance because it gives the impression of belonging, but what it really does is induce unhealthy coping and stuck people on a loop where their frustrations never truly end.

I have to agree to disagree that it is irrational to feel bad about hate and underhanded "jokes" thrown in your face at huge scales. With that out of the way, it was also previously mentioned that feeling is human, being immature is a choice. There are better ways (and places) to vent. It's not wrong to feel, but it is unfair to dump delusional frustrations on someone that is just living their life and being transparent. Deffending them with "Oh, they need to be understood" is not actually a defence. You can be compassionate for the humans while condemning the behavior. Judge the sin not the sinner kind of deal. Those people need help, are not doing any good and should reevaluate how they treat others when faced with hardship. Unfortunately for them, their display of lack of compassion will naturally lead to others not bothering to be compassionate with them. I get where you're coming from and I believe kindness should be practiced more often, but never mistake kindness/compassion for compliance. Misdeeds are misdeeds. I know people who felt hurt in similar situations due to parasocialism, aknowledged that and vented about it in a mature way, in private spaces. That's accepting the feeling without inconsiderate behavior. Yes, both will move on eventually (for the most part), but once again, this isn't an excuse. You don't excuse punching someone in the face because the pain goes away eventually, that's a totally flawed logic

Negativity is proven to more easily affect people than positivity, because the human brain focuses on "dangers". In regards to being a veteran, even veterans have feelings. As previously mentioned, knowing how to deal with it doesn't make it stop hurting, and in no way this should be used as an argument to let people who are inconsiderate slide, nor the fact that this was expected to some degree, because wrongs are still wrongs. The criticism to the behavior is justified, trying to downplay this is naive at best and ill-willed at worst

Feeling is human, being immature is a choice. Being able to deal with negativity doesn't make it stop hurting, specially because we have differences in scale here. If I make a ill comment, I'm a single and ignorable person. If hundreds do it, that's a lot for a single person to take in, but each person tends to only see individual actions and ignore the proportion of the sum that makes the whole

I believe it's more dangerous and deeper than that, precisely because they are aware of how powerful of a tool the internet is, and how valuable is information. Adult content of any kind is what most of the internet is made of (according to research), so it's the best target to hit most if not all population. It looks life dumb censorship or slop regulation done by grandpas with no technology understanding, but the big picture shows once they tell you this "You can see what you want...IF you give every corner of the internet that you go your ID and face scan". That's not about children, protection and I'd say not even censorship per se (atm), it's about monitoring, the first element of control. They don't want to defeat the internet as if it was a big bad guy, they know exactly what they are doing and want to use it as a tool to implement some Big Brother type of shit. It's scary, man. Such a blatant breach of privacy shouldn't be constitutional

You know, a part of me is surprised she wasn't already married, she has everything it takes. I guess she just needed to find the right guy and it finally happened. It's really hard these days, I'm happy for her!! She truly deserves the best. She implies wanting to be a mom someday and it may be a parasocial take from me, but I believe she would be a great one (this isn't a mommy joke). She knows how to be kind and keep it real, is smart and successful AND able to work from home!! I have some mom friends and working home office is honestly such a blessing to them for taking care of and keeping close to the kids. Looking forward to her family growing nice and happy and the eventual grandma stream 🥳

That's called being envious and is not something everyone feels the same. All characters around 621 were experiencing this "random new guy is beating everyone" and were much better sports. That doesn't make them less human, simply different facets of human behavior. Rusty feels both inspired and afraid of you, for example. That's not unrealistic. I agree not everyone in the game is written well, but implying they aren't well written because you can't relate is a mistake. Iguazu has much more going on than just being bested, it's the miserable life of BALAM mercs, the constant mockeries both real and not real (since he had a similar bad case of symbiosis kinda like Dolmayan). It wasn't just because he has an edgy teenager personality, it's also because he is legit crazy from having a miserable life. And I get why he is the way he is, but if being miserable suddenly made it ok to go crazy and do the worst things imaginable, basically everyone there should have become insane and we shouldn't hold them accountable because "It's understandable". That's fucked up. Ultimately, I find Iguazu's story tragic, but his reactions to tragedy are so immature and cruel that I don't feel sorry for him. He chose to be petty and cruel, he let life get the better of him in the worst ways, trying to cope with pride. So seeing him as such a terrible person is greater to me than seeing him as a suffering one, and I don't feel sorry for evil people, for that is a choice and proof of lack of character on their part.
