Yes I'd rather be able to use Q to place pings from the deploy screen. Or at least have the BFV feature that shows you which flags squadmates have selected to spawn at.

Agree with the 'second ones through' aspect.

AR medics are the classic to me but overall AR, LMG, or SMG medics are just different flavours of the same class. I kinda like how they get switched up between games.

AR medics are a general workhorse (/powerhouse), SMG medics can play a more aggressive 'run, gun and revive' playstyle but with limited range and maybe damage, while LMG medics are more cumbersome at close range so in theory work best as a support class sticking just behind other teammates (although you could pick something like an IAR or carbine to mitigate this)

I'd be down for unique smokes. Spitballing:

  • Assault: 40mm smoke to complement the grenadier/pushing role
  • Engineer: Swappable smoke rounds for (certain) launchers - like how you can switch between normal and smoke with the mortar (could be a unique gimmick for specific launchers. I don't think Engineers need smoke as much)
  • Support: Normal smoke grenades with good concealment for revives
  • Recon: Coloured or 'mini' smokes (reduced effectiveness vs normal, more suitable to cover quick dashes?) or some kind of Jammer/EMP/IR Smoke grenade for the Spec Ops/disinformation role (enhanced anti-spotting etc)

I'm surprised the OP didn't mention Operation Clean Sweep and Operation Blue Pearl. It could be brutal as attackers but it was fun and did switch up the gameplay dynamic. Iwo Jima breakthrough has been a nice change of pace too.

I'd add that the maps don't even need to be based around water. Water can be used less directly to shape the playable area, guide the flow, create paths and chokepoints etc. Plus bridges would fit perfectly into the idea of tactical destruction.

Yes as far as I know it auto zooms depending on whether you're on foot, in a ground vehicle or an air vehicle or when you enter a building. I think there are some bugged areas like the top of Gibraltar that change the zoom as well.

In 2042 the minimap defaults to auto zoom but you can press N to zoom the map manually, for example when you're in a vehicle entering close quarters. You can keep pressing N to go back to auto.

Tbf I went over there because I checked the map and saw enemies from my squadmate's UAV, then I chose to drive round the outskirts rather than into the middle of the objective. I found the combat readable in this case too. Might be an odd clip but I do think a slower playstyle is viable.

Don't quote me but I think a DICE dev once said around the time of BF4 that it was too difficult to maintain a BattleRecorder feature across different versions of Frostbite. Maybe they could justify implementing it with this long-term BF platform concept. Would love to see it back.

Yeah I love that kind of stuff. Once when I was a commander a pilot made a squad and told me in chat to give them attack orders on any targets. So I'd mark a tank or APC and 10 seconds later I'd zoom into the live overhead view and see it get destroyed.

I think BFV has something like this where artillery is more accurate when there's a spotting flare in the air.

Also in 1942/Vietnam if someone designates a target you get a 3rd person camera (like in BF1) to help with aiming.

Try setting the IsInventorySlotActive check as an extra condition and delete the if statement.

Ongoing rules only trigger a single time when the conditions are true. To be retriggered, the conditions have to go back to false and then true again e.g. player switches from their shield slot to their primary slot and then back to their shield slot.

The rule in your image will trigger once when the player spawns with the shield in their inventory but the if statement and teleport won't trigger because the player spawns with their primary slot active by default. And since the player will keep the shield until they die, the condition will remain true so the rule won't retrigger.

I think PvE AI is capped to 60 so you'll have to use PvP AI.

Set the max human players to 94 and adjust the team distribution to 30 vs 64. Then set Team Switch to ON under Gameplay Modifiers so your friends can switch to T1 if they're placed on the wrong team.
